I really like the attention to detail of this notebook. I own a LOT of sketching notebooks, this is one of the best. Takes pencil and fountain pen beautifully.

I love it, but it's not perfect. |

This paper has a definite texture of horizontal lines raised from the surface of the paper. It can be somewhat rough with pens with a "smoother" nib. I have found that my Lamy Safari and Rotring 600 tend to skip a bit, but the Noodler flex and piston fills work great. No bleed through whatsoever, even with the wettest of inks and pens. It feels great With the right pen, but isn't perfect. I love the metallic edge and ribbon bookmark. I'm not crazy about the logo on the cover, but that is easily covered with a sticker. I would love to see an elastic closure and perforated pages, but even so this has become my go to for letter writing.

This is a great little sketchbook..particularly like the sizing. the paper could be better for ink/watercolour without to much bleed...but on the whole please with it.

As a sketchbook, meh. |

This paper is excellent. As a sketchbook it's frustrating. One side of each page is toothed with laid ridges, the other side is an even vellum.
That’s not bad if every leaf in the book could be oriented the same way (say, laid on the back and vellum on the front), but that can’t be so. If you choose to use the vellum sides (for example), then your work in the book appears on the left pages for 5 drawings, then the right pages for 5 drawings, then the left...
There's nothing wrong with that per se, but this is packaged as a "presentable" sketchbook. When you've filled it and want to show off your work, your viewer WILL ask why you alternate which side of the page you drew on. After you explain your viewer has lost a little interest in your work and has begun pondering the paper making process.
If you draw with pen or marker or just want an unruled journal, buy 10 now!!! But for those who sketch in a medium that depends on the paper finish, there are better choices out there.
