Sheaffer Skrip Purple (50ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sheaffer purple and all in general I have been using Sheaffer purple since third grade in Catholic School,. That makes it about 63 years. Sheaffer has always made some of the very best inks and this is also looking at some of their 1930's catalogues. You could by up to one gallon of the color of your choice for $4.80. Their formulas and coloring changed a little sometime in the late 1960's. The purple used to be a little more purpley but it close. It has always shown a very little purpl/blue highlights depending on the paper used. But.......it's still the best purple along with the rest of their inks so far. One thing with their inks, they have always flow smooth from the nib. Thank you Keith

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very smooth, nice bright purple: I was looking for some colors in a basic, good, all around ink once I was through with the initial ink cartridges on my Lamys, and really wasn't satisfied with the color depth on the Lamy inks. I wanted a basic set of inks - already had a Cross Black from my much older foray into fountain pens - so I was looking for a blue, green, red and purple good workable basic to use and have available. Except for the green, which I was *really* picky about, the others I chose were the Sheaffer Skrip (Slovenia) Red, Purple and Blue, and I'm **very** happy with them. Very smooth, very easy to use and fluid, colors and price were right. Glad I got them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A well behaved ink This ink really impressed me. Bleed through, feathering, and show through were extremely minimal to non existent. The ink flow is consistent without being overly lubricated and I was able to leave this ink in a pen for a few months without any clogging or start up issues. At the end of the day, it isn't the most saturated or interesting purple, but it's a very nice ink with excellent properties for a good price. I will note that I find the color a bit too close to a traditional Royal Blue to be used for markup / grading in my opinion. For that, I would look to a more saturated reddish purple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Purple I love this color purple because I find that it is a true purple (not showing any bias toward either the red or the blue ends of the spectrum). It has the smooth flow that I have come to expect from Sheaffer inks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting ink Using Sheaffer's purple ink has inspired me to start using different colors of ink. I absolutely love the color of this purple, a little deep, yet vibrant. Flows well and works wonderfully. This was another ink I bought for a very dear friend of mine, and I must say, it certainly has a great bold look on paper. Excellent service from the Goulets...as always.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pure, unadulterated purple If you are looking for the purest purple you can find in a fountain pen ink then this may just be it. It is not a dark purple-black nor is it a periwinkle blue-purple. The flow is even and smooth in the one pen I have tried it in. There is absolutely no shading so if that is what you are looking for then this ink will not be what you are seeking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sheaffer Skrip Purple This ink dries more blue than purple in the pens I've used with it so far. Doesn't seem to cause any skipping, nor does it seem to dry out in the pen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Spring Ink This shade of purple is absolutely lovely for use after the long, cold winter! It is perfect for a garden journal or a letter. It is not dark and heavy but not so light that it disappears. This is my second bottle!
