The Homo Sapiens Evolution is handmade from hardened basaltic lava sourced from the Mount Etna volcano in Italy, with palladium trim. Visconti lava is virtually unbreakable, comfortable and warm to the touch - and slightly hygroscopic, absorbing moisture from your hand. The basaltic lava is mixed with resin to create this pen. The engraved resin screw-cap matches the grip and end cap, creating beautiful symmetry. Visconti has recently updated their branding and font used on their clips. During this transition, you may receive a pen with a slightly different font then shown here.
The fountain pen's vacuum power filler is made of titanium to resist ink corrosion, and it features Visconti's exclusive Skeleton steel nib.
Update: Historically this pen has been offered with a tubular steel nib; however, Visconti is now transitioning to 18kt gold Perfecttouch nibs made by Bock in Germany. We've indicated in each nib size dropdown whether the tubular steel nib or 18kt gold nib is currently being offered at Goulet Pens.
You can also customize this pen with the magnetized MyPen System. We offer natural stones that you can swap into the finial in place of the Visconti logo coin.
