Guilloche is an intricate decorative technique created by engraving a surface with great precision and then adding a transparent layer of resin, enamel, or in the case of S.T. Dupont’s fine writing instruments, a natural lacquer over the engraved surface. The solid brass body and cap is lacquered multiple times and hand polished to create a smooth, unique texture on the surface that differs from each pen as no two writing instruments are identical. Handcrafted in France, the blue natural lacquer finish is adorned with palladium-plated fittings. The fountain pen features S.T. Dupont's famous 'click' to echo their famous lighter 'cling'. The medium size fountain pen is enhanced with the S.T. Dupont 14kt gold nib, and fills via cartridge/converter (included).
New Line D Pen Collection
The Line D is S.T. Dupont’s classic line of fine writing instruments. A signature of 145 years of S.T. Dupont family history and pride, the Line D stands as the corporate seal. Recently the Line D was updated with a newly recognized identity showcasing the brand's ‘blazon’ signature embellished on the new articulated clip, the Signature D initial magnified in a cursive script atop the pen cap, and the distinctive sound of the cap opening and closing remaining evident.
Made at the factory in Faverges, every Line D is crafted from brass and painted with natural Urushi lacquer. Following the geometries of divine proportion the pen has the ideal balance and weight and is offered in two sizes: medium or large. The collection is available in many different natural lacquer colors with a choice of palladium or gold finishes.
S.T. Dupont is a leading brand of luxury products designed and made in France. Founded in Paris in 1847 by its namesake Simon Tissot Dupont, today S.T. Dupont is world famous for their exceptional writing instruments. S.T. Dupont has been a supplier to Royals, Aristocracy and celebrities including: Coco Chanel, Leonardo DiCaprio, the British royal family, Audrey Hepburn, and Marilyn Monroe.
In the 1930s, S.T. Dupont perfected the bonding of the nigh indestructible Urushi lacquer onto metal, offering a strong luxurious finish to their writing instruments. The company mastered the art of fine lacquer by rediscovering and perfecting ancient Japanese and Chinese techniques. This process has become a staple of the luxury S.T. Dupont brand through the present day.
S.T. Dupont products are still made at the original workshop located in Faverges near the French Alps. Their writing instruments are world renowned for precise engineering and intricate goldsmith manufacture. They are committed to innovation and cutting-edge technology while also retaining status as a Heritage brand.
