Conklin Herringbone Fountain Pen - Burgundy
The Conklin Herringbone fountain pen is now offered with your choice of a reliable, smooth-writing German made JoWo #6 silver steel nib in extra-fine, fine, medium, or the new JoWo silver Omniflex flexible steel nib for variation in line width.
Our note about the JoWo Omniflex nib: This flex nib will allow you to experience more bounce and softness than writing with conventional nibs. You can achieve some line variation with a little additional downward pressure, to a point. We recommend flexing the nib to about twice the line width that you would see without using any pressure. Please take care to avoid pressing too hard on the nib, as over-flexing could prevent the tines from returning fully to their original position and decrease or stop your ink flow.
The new Conklin Herringbone series combines the vintage appeal with modern bold style and elegance. The unique Herringbone pattern itself is achieved by using a very precise computerized engraving machine to cut the deep pattern on airplane-grade aluminum. This elegant pattern, reminiscent of the Conklin crescent shape, is seen underneath a special translucent colored acrylic and coated with several layers of epoxy for protection and brightness. The heavy chromium clip also is engraved with the legendary “Conklin” trademarked name and font and the center ring is engraved with the Conklin “Herringbone” name surrounded by several Conklin crescent shapes on each side. This fountain pen comes with a threaded, standard international converter and also uses reliable short standard international cartridges.
