30ml Bottle

This 30ml glass bottle of Colorverse Gluon shimmering amber yellow ink is part of the Colorverse Glistening collection.

Colorverse inks are made in South Korea.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens. We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging. You will also want to be diligent about cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.

Unexpected Favourite

I love shades of chartreuse, pea-green, avocado, etc. and had been curious about this particular ink for sometime. I finally bought a full bottle and was pleasantly surprised to discover a new favorite ink!I'm currently using Gluon in a TWSBI Eco (Fine). I found this pen, normally a very wet writer, to be perfect for this ink. On TR, Rhodia, Leuchterrm, & CF papers, the ink's initial appearance is pea-green, drying with a copper sheen most observable from an angle. But on TR when dry, the appearance is that of a metallic copper ink with minimal hints of yellow-green. I much prefer seeing more green, and given the majority of the paper I write on is TR, this is a slightly disappointing aspect. As with 'Ham', also by Colorverse, I wish 'Gluon' was also available in a non-glistening version. One other slight negative is the 30 ml bottle size. As I use almost exclusively piston/vac-fill pens which require depth to properly fill, the smaller 30ml bottle barely accommodates. Filling via syringe will likely become necessary as the level continues to drop. Overall, if you too are a fan of this somewhat offbeat colour, or like the look of metallic-copper, this may be the ink for you. It's certainly become an unexpected favourite of mine. Thank you for reading.

chartreuse is the best color

i was hesitant about the glitter but i was so drawn to the color and it was worth it. it writes closer to a brown when in my twsbi eco fine nib, but it writes very smoothly. i don't experience any skips or clogging with the glitter. very wet ink. i diluted the ink with water to get a true chartreuse and it still writes beautifully.

such a unique color!

i got a mini bottle of this ink first to try it, but i fell in love and had to get more! it's such an interesting shade (is it yellow? green? ochre?), and i swear the shimmer particles are purple the color combination is just lovely. The shimmer is very inconsistent, but i don't mind that because the contrast is wonderful. it does take a long time to dry, and i find myself accidentally smearing it if i haven't allowed ample drying time. once it's fully dry, it doesn't smear like sheeners do. it flows well in my pens, i've never had an issue with clogging or hard starts. every time i pick up a pen ive inked with Gluon, my first thought is 'gosh i love this ink!'

Quite lovely!

I am using this ink in my Opus 88 with a medium nib. I have no issues with flow and am really enjoying the coppery shimmer on top of the ochre base.Very glad to have found a beautiful, shimmery ink that doesn't clog my nib and starts up right away even if the pen has been sitting for a couple of days.

Beautiful!

This ink is sparkly, a fantastic color, and flows great from my Conklin Duragraph.

FAQs about Bottled Ink

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink.

What is shading, sheening, or shimmering ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Shading - A common (and often desired) result of a fountain pen ink pooling in certain parts of a letter when writing, so that the color and saturation of the ink appears different within a single letter or word. This characteristic cannot be achieved with ballpoint or rollerball pens and is a very appealing aspect of fountain pen use for those particularly drawn to all the pretty ink colors.

Sheen - Characteristic of a fountain pen ink where when ink pools another color can be seen on top of the ink, especially when looked at in different light angles using certain paper types. There is no way to guarantee an ink will sheen, but using a larger nib on a pen will help obtain sheening results in your writing.

Shimmering - Fountain pen ink that has small particles of glitter mixed in.

Is shimmering ink safe to use in fountain pens? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Yes! Shimmering ink is a great way to add some flare to your writing. We have found that a larger nib will showcase more shimmering particles while writing, but you can use any nib size and shimmering ink. All the ink we sell is safe for use in fountain pens.

You can learn more in our blog: How to Write with Shimmering Ink.

My ink smells funny, is it safe to use? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Generally yes! Ink does not smell good- it usually has a chemical smell, along with other scents such as sulfur, rubber, chemicals or even paint. However, as long as you’re not seeing anything floating in the ink, it should be safe to use.

It’s cold and my ink froze; is it safe to use? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Yes, frozen ink will not hurt your pen (after it’s thawed of course!) The issue with ink freezing is primarily a concern because certain glass bottles could break as the water-based ink expands, and then you’d have a mess!

What is your return policy for bottled ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B
