Platinum 3776 Century Fountain Pen - Chartres Blue/Gold is rated 4.8261 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chartres Blue Bliss! I'm a sucker for blue pens and this one just knocks my socks off. Classic but well thought out design, excellent materials, top notch construction. The Broad nib is nice and juicy, very smooth but with a hint of feedback. The pen is truly a dream to write with. I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend the pen to anyone. btw. -I find this Platinum broad nib to be more like a western broad in terms of line width, so you might want to keep that in mind. Check it out in the nib nook before you choose...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My absolute fav This pen feels great in my hand, it is the perfect weight and size for my hands and the colour is fantastic! I absolutely love that it is slightly translucent when it catches the light and I think it pairs nicely with the gold accents. There is a slight bit of feedback (that platinum is known for) but the nib is really smooth. You just slightly feel the nib glide across the paper, just enough to know you're writing. Not at all scratchy! I have a fine nib and the line is slightly wider than a pilot Custom 74 for example but it is certainly still fine! Ink flow is pretty darn wet (currently inked up with De Atrementis Sherlock Holmes) but is not an absolute gusher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty pen, gold nib, writes well I've had this pen about a week, and I really like it. It's a beautiful deep translucent blue, close to what I'd describe as cobalt. I'm using Levenger Cobalt Blue ink in it and it writes very well, laying down a beautiful line (M nib). It's lightweight for its size and well balanced. No problems of any kind so far. It's my only 14k gold nib pen. Goulet Pens is my favorite pen and ink retailer (product selection and customer service are hard to beat), so I'm reviewing it here. I bought it elsewhere, though, because I found a price too good to pass up. If price is holding you back, look around that online river.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pen I've had my 3776 Century for about six months and it's a real go-to pen. The Slip-n-Seal cap is excellent; even drier inks don't dry out in the nib after sitting for days. The finish on the pen is well done, it's well balanced posted and unposted, the nib is soft-ish, a little springy and wet and the translucent blue is beautiful. And, because it has a C/C filling system, it's super easy to clean. I chose a B nib because of the reputation of Japanese nibs to run narrow. For my nib it's true; I would say the B is very close to a Western M.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous writing I received this pen as a gift, and what a wonderful gift at that. So far I've written with it for two days, ink continues to flow smoothly, the nib has none of the scratchiness I've found in some extra-fine points. And every so often sunlight strikes it just so and it does glow like a Chartres stain-glass window.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beautiful pen I love the size, weight and design of the Platinum 3776 Century Fountain Pens. In addition to this Chartres Blue pen, I have the first demonstrator limited edition. Since I keep too many pens inked, Platinum's slip-and-seal closure works perfectly for me. I think these 3776s make great EDC pens and the Chartres Blue reminds me of the blue at that cathedral in France. The pen serves as a souvenir of a trip I made there with my late wife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This pen rocks! Wow...it's amazing what you can get for under $200 from the Platinum Co. In the search for my first Japanese pen, I chose this one mainly because of the color, as well as the reputation of the nibs. Boy, once you've loaded up the converter, it's ready to go. As with extra-fine nibs, they can be scratchy, but the Platinum extra-fine is definitely pleasing to write with. There is still feedback, but the nib is springy and forgiving. No skips on from this pen! I'm definitely setting my sights on another Platinum pen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank you! I write from Manila, Philippines. I recently took advantage my in-laws were in the U.S. to order some goodies from you and had them shipped to a U.S. address. I ordered two bottle of Noodler's ink and you included a bile of pen flush free of charge...!! Thanks so much. In a separate order, i ordered a Platinum 3776 Century. A wonderful pen. aesthetically perfect. The order also arrived promptly. I am really happy with your service. You do great service to us, pen lovers. Kind regards, Javier
