Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen - Retro Pop Orange, Fine is rated 4.875 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to pens I love Pilot Metropolitan pens. They are, as the title says, my go-to pens. They always write. If I leave one uncapped for too long or I haven't used it for a while and the flow has stopped, I give the nib a quick swipe with a wet finger, and, voila, it writes perfectly again. This Retro Pop "Orange" isn't really orange in color but closer to a stylish bronze. The barrel is decorated with truly orange designs near the grip. They are attractive and perfect for the pen. I highly recommend any of the Pilot Metropolitan pens. Excellent looks. Excellent functionality. Excellent quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for first time fountain pen owners! The Pilot Metropolitan definitely holds up the raving reviews I've been seeing ever since the original models came out! The nib is so smooth that I honestly thought to myself that this was the best pen I've ever written with in my life. I am beyond impressed. The orange color looks sleek and beautiful. The pen itself is great quality and so easy to use, especially for fountain pen newbies like me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic nib Truth be told, I prefer stub, italic and broad nibs. But sometimes a very fine nib is needed, like when you go to a new doctor for the first time and have to fill out all of the forms on cheap paper. Well, this pen with a fine nib absolutely fits the bill! WOW! What a fabulous nib! It's smooth, with just a little bit of feedback. I used Namiki blue (Pilot) cartridges in it. The flow is perfect. And the pen is comfortable. This is a $40 pen that costs $15. It is a bargain. I absolutely love how this pen writes. I love the pen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for those who want a fine nib I ordered this pen after watching several highly excited reviews by Brian Goulet, and I'm always curious about a fountain pen that reviews so well and yet is so inexpensive. I have a small collection of extra fine nibs (Lamy, Sheaffer, Faber-Castell) and the fine nib on this pen is much finer than all of these pens. This is my first Japanese-size fine nib and I'm pleasantly surprised at how fine it is. The previous reviewer mentions that the fine nib on this pen is 'more like a medium' in his opinion, which s not my experience of this pen at all. This is a very fine nib. I like to collect pens with a minimalist, modern design and this fits in with my collection very well. The weight in the hand is pleasantly substantial and well balanced. I didn't experience the cap loosening or falling off when the pen was posted. It writes very smoothly indeed, and although I haven't used it for a longer writing session just yet (I will re-review then), it keeps up perfectly and the ink flow was consistent, although not terribly wet, which I assumed was a function of the fine nib. I bought a CON-50 converter, because I'm not a big fan of squeeze converters, and it works perfectly. Overall, my opinion is that's this pen is a testament to Pilot's pen making experience, and it makes stylish, refillable writing instruments accessible to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So pretty. So much fun for such a tiny price. I love it, as I do all my Pilot Metros. Caveat: The fine point is a little pointy and will scratch paper. I may smooth it a bit. I put a bright yellow orange ink in it. Not a good point size for highlighter <g>.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent writing, large capacity secure cartridge, posting unreliable, warm hand issue Pilot has the best of many things in a fountain pen here. The cartridge is eyedropper refillable (once you remove the disc with forceps or a crochet hook), seats thoroughly and securely, and is larger than international cartridge standards. The feed has excellent ink flow but is not too wet at first; the heat of your hand on this aluminum pen will cause it to be increasingly wet, and it may blob out a drop of ink onto your document if you hold it a long time! The blob can come out inside the cap if you hold it closed; what a mess! I've subtracted a star for this. I may try drilling a small hole in the body wall of this pen to avoid heat-induced pressure. The nib is smooth, if a bit stiff; the fine is closer to a medium in my opinion. The cap seals the nib in securely so that it does not dry out; you can open this pen after days and days of no use and it writes immediately. I have expensive pens that dry out with each use! When the cap is posted, it loosens and falls off while writing; this is a pen that needs you to set the cap aside while using it. While annoying, it was not worth subtracting a star for me. The light metallic orange color of this pen is rendered accurately on this Goulet website. The price is a real bargain for a durable metal pen. I'm trying a Prera to see if it has better posting and hand-heat performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this pen!! The Pilot Metropolitan is the best writing pen that I have. This is the second one that I have purchased and I use these two pens more than any other. I have the fine nibs and they are so smooth it is amazinng. Thank you Goulet pens for your tutorials, it was your tutorial on the pilot pens that enticed me to purchase them and I am so glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gorgeous This is my second Pilot Metropolitan Pen. They are my favourite ones. This time in Fine. With the orange ink DIAMINE blaze orange the best combination for my bullet journal. Light, no ink on my fingers, closes perfect and a nice colour.
