Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri-same - Autumn Shower (50ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.72 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Instant Favorite The ink performs flawlessly, which is expected given the price. That is, no bleedthrough, no feathering, quick dry time, good flow and lubrication on almost all papers and in all the pens I've tried it in. The color is beautiful and calming. Within one week of owning this ink and using it daily, I received three separate comments, unsolicited, about it being a beautiful color. People notice this ink. I normally use Lamy EF-sized nibs but I've had best results with this ink in a Lamy F. The slightly larger nib gives the ink a nicer level of saturation, which displays the ink's warm tones better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Warn Gray It's light enough that it doesn't look like a washed out black - it's gray, but dark enough to write with. It's a shaded ink. I tested EF- B and 1.5 Nibs, and you could read this ink well at any size except when I used super small printing to take notes. It is so shaded that it makes it too difficult to read the small printed handwriting. Small printed handwriting with the EF nib looks more spotty than shaded. I'll use it for every day personal writing and drawing. I love it for drawing. Don't hesitate to order from the Goulet Pen Co. - great customer service and fast delivery. I prefer them over Amazon and I get free shipping at Amazon.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A unique color, but it becomes a less-attractive mauve on some paper I was looking forward to a warm Iroshizuku grey, but I am a little disappointed in the color. All inks change depending on the paper quality of course, but Autumn Shower seems especially susceptible. On a higher quality, less absorbent paper like a Rhodia pad, the shading is beautiful. The color itself is a little odd, but undeniably distinct from the colder, dark greys that seem more common, such as Faber-Castell’s Stone Grey. But on any kind of cheaper or more absorbant paper the shading disappears and Autumn Shower actually has a dead-looking, purplish tone that I can best describe as "brain matter mauve." It almost looks like a darker color that has been washed out. Since I take a lot of notes on el cheapo, work-supplied paper, I decided against it. But the flow was super smooth, with no feathering, and I can't complain about the ink's behavior. In the end, this might be one of those you-have-to-see-it-yourself colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fascinating Color Really, this color has far more character than I expected! In fines and extra-fines, it really resembles pencil. In italic or flex nibs, it has lovely shading. In very wet nibs, it is quite dark--in dry pens, it is quite light. It's well-behaved in all of them too. A staple I'm glad to have added.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gray! I wasn't sure whether I would like this color--would it be too light? too dull? a boring shade? As it turns out, definitely not! With a fine nib, the color stands out on paper quite legibly. In fact, in my notebook, it resembles the shade of a good pencil without any smudging. It dries quickly and once dry is fairly water resistant. With a broad nib, the gray is darker with wonderful shading. This ink is lots of fun!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for finer nibs Gave this a try without high expectations, but wasn't impressed. I generally use fine nibs, and this ink is just too thin. On broader, really wet nibs where you get a heavier line and more shading, it might be nice, but it's not for me. However, I like the neutrality of the grey enough to give it 4 stars instead of 3. I might try mixing it with a little Take-sumi to see what happens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent choice I wanted a grey ink, and I went with this over the fuyu-syogun mainly because I have a friend with the fuyu and I wanted something different. I love both colors, and you can't go wrong with either. The kiri-same has very nice properties. It performs very well, and I love the shading. I'm using a 1.1mm stub with it, and the variation between a lighter grey and a very dark dark grey is spectacular. It adds a lot of character to how the page looks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What's not to like Like all Pilot inks, this one is well behaved. Nicely lubricated and a general good performer. It is a warmer gray (unlike Fuyu-Syogun), and could be a bit too light with a fine nib. However, with a medium or stub nib this ink really shines.
