Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pilot Ink Amazing ink. No smell, I mean none. Not when it is wet or dry. Comes off on the page a light blue that is very pleasing to the eye. This shade of blue also allows for you to control the intensity of the color based on how much pressure you apply resulting in a range from thin blue lines to darker thick. As a result you can control and more importantly cause to happen one of the unique things about a fountain pen using this type of ink: project variables in intensity and hue that add character to the writing. In short, this ink makes it possible to do what you intended to do in buying a fountain pen in the first place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely medium blue Wonderful medium blue with a surprising brightness to it. The ink flows quite well, but seems to have more of a "water" feel rather than an lubricated feel when writing. Shading is moderate, the drying time is a bit longer (8 seconds - typical of Pilot inks), and is very water soluable (meaning that it easily washes away). I have used this ink in my Lamy Safari with a fine point, Lamy Al-Star with a 1.1 stub, Delta Horsepower with a fusion stub nib, Faber Castell Loom with a fine point, and a custom pen with a 18K fine point nib. It has behaved well in all of them, but seems to work the best in the Delta since it is a wetter pen. I love the color and the professional look of the ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Ink I have been using this ink for several months now and can say that it's easily my favorite. The label color is quite violet, but the ink is far more blue than purple to my eyes. It is one of the most lubricating and well-behaved inks I have ever tried. I personally believe that this stuff is well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to blue I chose this ink over less-expensive inks because of how well it behaves in the pen and on the paper. It flows well, doesn't feather as much as other inks, and I haven't had it bleed even on bleed-prone papers (which frankly surprises me given how saturated this ink is). It's also easy to clean up and can make the scratchiest nib write smoothly. It's a wonderful office-use blue. Not too subdued, not too in-your-face. As I mentioned, it's very saturated. I haven't noticed any shading, but I use it in a fine-nibbed pen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular Ink, Great Service I love blue inks, especially Iroshizuku blues (I own, use, and love Kon Peki and Tsuyu-Kusa in my Pelikan M800's) but I think that Asa Gao might be my favorite ink of all. It stands out on the page but can be used for professional writing as well, including grading of student papers. The flow is excellent and the ink is well behaved. As always, the service from the Goulets was superb: excellent customer service and quality and timely shipping. Highly recommended on all counts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grey blue I was lucky enough to get this color from buying the empty bottle. There was about 2 ml left in the bottle and I inked up a fine tip preppy to test it. I think the color is a beautiful grey blue that has a hint of lavender. It reminds me of the ocean on a cloudy day before a storm (not so much a morning glory). Because I think of that image when I write with this color, I kind of like it more and more (growing on me). I did dock a star because I prefer my blues to be darker, but since it is a lighter blue I get some nice shading. I plan on buying more Pilot Iroshizuku bottles and love that Goulet Pens not only offer samples but the bottles the samples came from. Best ink service EVAR (yes evAr) lol

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent Behaviour. Mediocre Colour As noted by another reviewer, writing from this ink is very similar to Diamine Sapphire. The behaviour of the ink, however, is exceptional; it's fast to dry, it's high in lubricity and flows very well. It doesn't smudge and doesn't bleed or feather or creep. Having said that, neither does the Diamine Sapphire I used to use. I feel a user would be better served by a bottle of the more impressive Iroshi blues, like Kon Peki.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yet another eye-catching ink! I confess to a love of Iroshizuku inks that is so deep I own four bottles and have given two others away to new pen friends. I was making another purchase on the Goulet page, and decided on yet another bottle of ink since I don't need a new pen. I have only begun to write with it, but so far it flows as well as my other bottles; that never seems to be a problem. The shade of blue is nearly perfect for me. I haven't had a chance to compare it yet, but I older if it might be in the family of Diamine Imperial Blue. It is bright enough that it won't be missed on a letter, but not so bright or garish to negate being used in a business setting. Definitely worth at least getting a sample to test for yourself.
