Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Ink and an Excellent Performer, Too Wow! What a beautiful ink from the Iroshizuku line. It writes so smoothly from my Pelikan M800 with no feathering and excellent overall behavior. The color is divine especially if you like blue inks. I have almost all of the Iroshizuku blues (I especially like Kon Peki, Tsuyu-Kusa, and Asa Gao) but this ink may be the most beautiful of them all. And the Goulets' service was impeccable, as always. This is why I buy almost all of my ink from them. It is so wonderful to be supporting a small, independent business as we pursue our passion for fine pens and exquisite inks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ultimate blue I like a turquoise blue, and wanted to try this ink when it was announced as it looked interesting. What a beautiful ink! It has the most beautiful shading from a light turquiose/sky blue to a medium intense royal / french blue. Flows wonderfully, not too wet and looks great with my vintage flex pens or my fine firm nibs, Get some, and try it. The best blue, I love it! way better blue than Kon Peki. (but thats just my opinion) :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very wet, cheerful, great shading This is one of my favorite work inks. It's bright enough to see easily as a correcting/editing ink, and it feels cheerful without being silly. It's lighter than I would use for work correspondence, but it's perfect for casual personal correspondence. This ink is quite wet. I've tested it in several nibs, and it worked well in everything but my Platinum bold (where it bled a bit on paper where bleeding isn't usually an issue). I like it best in a medium nib (Platinum, Shaeffer), where the line is wide enough to show off a bit of shading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, wet ink It certainly lives up to the hype I've heard of its wetness. Unless you want a *really* light blue, I'd suggest not writing with this on pure white paper with smaller nibs. Larger nibs show more of its beautiful shading while smaller nibs on off white papers darkens the ink to a rather nice shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True Azure This ink really captures the color of sky on a summer afternoon. It resembles it so much that when I use to write on white paper, it feels as though I'm actually tearing through the sheet to reveal the firmament underneath. Azure is the best word to describe it. It reminds me of my childhood and it reminds me of Okinawa. Musically, it suggests the instrumental part of the song "The Double of the Wind" by Susumu Hirasawa. In terms of quality, it behaves well like the other Iroshizuku, with fluidity and shading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect blue As usual, Iroshizuku inks do not disappoint. Ama-iro is well behaved and it has some nice shading to it. To me, this is the perfect shade of blue, and it is my absolute favorite blue. That's saying a lot, because I love lots of blues. It is a true sky blue color, like the sky in summer. It flows beautifully, effortlessly gliding your nib across the page. I currently have about four pens loaded with this ink, and it looks a little different in each nib. It's a little darker in a stub nib; a very nice effect. Although it is a light blue, it has plenty of contrast on white or ivory paper. And it is a "true" blue, sort of like turquoise, but without any green. Also, it is a very cheerful color, without being ridiculous. This is an ink I recommend without hesitation to anyone who loves blues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perhaps the best ink ever? Received this ink as a gift from my wife. The colour is incredible, but not dark enough, perhaps, if you require a "serious" colour for work (accounting/legal/medical.) The closest comparison I have is Lamy turquoise. As a lefty that prefers Lamy fine or LH nibs, I have never seen shading like this in an ink. My handwriting is almost legible! I use it on average quality paper and feathering or bleed-through has not been a problem. I can find no criticism for this ink and have already ordered two others in this line. The flood gates have opened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ink I have been using other Iroshizuku inks and as always, the Ama-Iro did not disappoint. Well behaved, excellent color saturation and shading, soooo smooth and so easy to clean. Iros are my favorite inks! I'll probably keep collecting all the colors.
