Noodler's Habanero (3oz Bottled Ink) is rated 4.6479 out of 5 by 71.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexpectedly wonderful ink I got the sample, and immediately bought a bottle. There is some nice shading to the ink, but what has impressed me the most is it's behavior on cheap paper. I expect a good performance from most inks on Clairefontaine, Apica, Rhodia, etc. so the real test is how well it works on what my students turn in. There is a little bleed through to the other side using Mead paper, but there is no feathering and the shading is still there. I find that Habanero writes lighter than the Goulet Swab indicates, even when I tested it with the glass dip pen. It pairs perfectly with a Pilot stub/italic nib.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's really 'Burnt Orange' I spent the better part of a 24 hr. period in a three-way internet/email conversation with Brian Goulet, Stephen B.R.E. Brown and myself. I had enlisted them in helping me to decide which ink carried by Goulet Pens was closest to the color of my alma mater, The University of Texas at Austin. That color is called 'Burnt Orange'. It's the color of sunsets sometimes seen in the Heart of Texas. (It is also one of the colors of Brian's alma mater!). Well between Stephen and Brian and I we decided that Habanero was probably the closest ink, all things considered. I then ordered a sample of this ink and it arrived today. I promptly used it to ink up my Noodler's standard nib piston-fill pen. And away I wrote! This is much darker and more saturated than I had dared hope for. I thought it might be like Apache Sunset and dry much lighter, but no! It stays this same shade of deep, rich, reddish-orange! I'm in love!! I think Nathan has just made another sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my Favorites I have over a dozen colors from Noodler's and this is still one of my favorites because of it's color and shading variations. I put my writing notes down in different colors depending on what they're related to and I use Habanero for the really important information because it stands out so beautifully against every other color from blood-red "Antietam" to vivid "Bad Blue Heron" and everything in between. Besides, it's just such a fun color that writing with it makes me happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! There are a lot of shaded orange inks out there, but this is my favorite. It's dark enough for everyday writing, looks great (and easy to read) on both white and ivory paper and behaves well with any ink/paper combo i've tried. I only "discovered" it through this month's ink drop, so thanks to the Goulets for choosing it! If you haven't tried this ink (or the Ink Drop) yet, please do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous! I bought samples of Noodler's Apache Sunset and Habanero hoping I'd be able to easily choose between them. Apache Sunset gets SO MUCH attention that I thought I'd make a mistake passing on it. But I can't help it, I love Habanero best. They aren't very different. Apache Sunset is a little lighter. But Habanero is a shade more beautiful, more intense, more richly colored. It really showed when I took a watercolor brush to it. That helped me make up my mind, finally, to order a bottle of Habanero.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orange you glad for Habenero? I LOVE this ink! Goes down bright and dries brilliant. I filled my Tswibi with it; looks great in a demonstrator. and as usual, Nathan fills the bottle to the very top... always gives you your money's worth. Can't wait to try some more Noodler's colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A gorgeous shading ink. Love the stuff out of a standard nib! It shades nicely on most paper this way. I found that my flex nib ended up putting too much ink on the paper most of the time and leaves it mostly red, but that's likely my inexperience with adjusting noodler's flex pens. I should really dial back the flow! Still, a lovely ink. I get comments on it when I use it out in the real world.
