Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright and Beautiful Ink I bought this ink to use with my Noodler's Ahab Clear demonstrator. I wanted to check out the color, and I thought it would look really interesting in a clear pen. I was delighted by the color of the ink on a variety of papers. In the Ahab pen ink reservoir, the ink looks almost black, but once the pen touches paper, a bold color flows out. I never thought I'd like such a bright color, but it's great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fruity Color This ink is darker than I expected which is a good thing, its a cheery color and a refreshing change from the blacks and blues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review Sexy color. Loaded it in 3-4 pens already and love the output on Clairfontaine paper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good lubricated Ink with nice color Very nice color, though it depends significantly on your pen and paper. With absorbing paper, it feathers a lot, especially if you are using a flex pen that requires applying pressure. On a good quality paper like Rhodia, it looks gorgeous with nice shading. Flex writing with Noodler's Ahab looked beautiful on Rhodia dot pad, but then the drying time is very long particularly with a wet pen. So you have to use a blotting paper, or you will smear all you writing. It is lubricated ink, so it adds to the smoothness of writing, but again only if you use a good non-absorbing high-quality paper. It slightly increases wetness too. It arrived in a plastic bottle as opposed to the glass bottle that came with Noodler's Black and Blue inks. It is good for shipping, but in my everyday use, I would prefer a glass bottle for ink. Overall Noodler's Cactus Fruit Eel is a nice ink. I don't regret buying it and 3 oz will last for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Noodler's Cactus Fruit Eel Trying to quash my ink addiction, I first took a sample vial of Noodler's Cactus Fruit Eel. The color is hypnotic, vibrant, yet easy on the eye! I was pacing at the mail box in anticipation the USPS's delivery of the huge 3 ounce bottle! It has lovely flow in any pen I have tried, has beautiful shading when wet, and the color is saturated just the right amount. On quality paper I experienced no bleed through, though it does occur on the very cheap quality paper I use in my daily journal which no one reads but me. I've not experienced any nib creep, or feathering, even on the cheapest paper. It seems odorless and was easily washed off both my hand and the pen parts. Now I hope it will wash out of my white pants! Noodler's Cactus Fruit Eel is the perfect spring color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Filled to the top and bursting with COLOR ! Can't say enough about my new love for all the Noodler's EEL inks- The cure for your "picky" pens. The Cactus Friut color is by far the most fun ! But there are some I still eed to order :) Even though the bottle was filled to the brim (like all Noodler's inks)... it won't last long. It is a big hit with all the FP users here. Does feather on regular copy paper but dries quickly and is silky smooth on laser/ink jet paper- Nice shading, great for flex pen & calligraphy practice, notes, letters, cards- Everything :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Liking the Cactus Fruit Looks like it should be a bright fuchsia, but on paper it's a darker red-violet, which was good for me. I'd like a nice, painfully bright fuchsia for fun, but the Cactus Fruit works well as a primary ink for writing letters or journalling. It flows well, my pens love it, and I'm pleased with the colour.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Drying Issues I love, love, love the color, but recently used it on a Rhodia meeting notebook and it just does not dry. For up to 5 hours later, the ink still smears. Other fountain pen ink performs fine on the paper. I love Noodler colors, but find I have a drying problem with many of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Signature Ink I bought a sample of this a few weeks ago and I was really impressed with how vibrant the colour is. I used it in my TWSBI 580 and is great for regular writing and looks spectacular with a flex nib. I found that it took a while to dry, but that might have been the paper I was using (to my own frustration, I smeared it a bit. I am left-handed so this is to be expected with any ink though). As someone who loves purple-pink ink, this is for sure a signature ink for anyone who wants to leave an impression.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Noodler's Cactus Fruit Eel - SO smooth! It really did make my pens start up smoothly, without any coaxing at all. Before trying this ink, if I left my pen un-used for a day it would take a few minutes to get the ink flowing again. But that became an issue of the past with this ink. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite! It's so smooth on any paper! It tends to show-through on cheaper paper and a bit of feathering on computer paper, but on an average notebook I haven't had any issue. it's a beautiful darker purple that's great for taking notes!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent The bottles are always filled right to the very top. You get what you pay for. With this ink in particular, I like the change in tone depending on the speed and pressure in the stroke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is my new journaling ink! The color is dark and rich, but not boring. If you use a wet nib it shows a nice color variation. This lubricated ink stays on at least one of my pens at any given time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice ink The picture on the site does not do justice to the colour of this ink in the flesh. It is a really nice purple red colour and looks great on nice white paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yeow - beautiful colour Love this ink. Good flow, fast drying, killer colour. It's like a burgundy that's been stuck by lightning. Dark enough for letter writing, really pops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Noodler's Cactus Fruit Eel-Nice color, LOVE!! Nice purple tone! I fill this ink into my China Manufactured fountain pen, and result is so great! No squeak sound when you do a writing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very smooth great color but it does tend to dry a little slow which is only and issue because i'm left handed otherwise a great ink!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful color, very slow drying Beautiful color, very slow to dry, be sure to have a blotter handy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A rose by any other name.... Overall assessment: like the other Eel inks I have tried, the colour saturation is intense and very "wet". Eel inks are lubricated so it does take a bit of time to dry. I find the use of blotting paper is helpful. The colour is like a bright, magenta, tending more toward the purple, rather than pink end of the spectrum. An added bonus is it makes my piston convertor operate a bit more smoothly. I would highly recommend to family and friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great ink, lousy packaging I just bought this ink. As others have mentioned, it isn't for everyone, nor everything. That said, I LOVE it. The color demands your attention. It is vibrant and alive. However, I HATE the bottle. For those of us who use bottled ink exclusively, a glass bottle is the classic packaging, and for a good reason: it allows on to easily see how deeply the nib is immersed in the ink when filling the pen. It also allows us to see, at a glance, the color of the ink. This ink, unlike the picture online, came in an opaque white plastic bottle. In the case of the one I received, the outside of the bottle was stained with ink drops. Now, I need to find a glass bottle and a small metal funnel. No way is this ink staying in opaque plastic. I hope this isn't a new trend with Noodler's. If it is, I will be buying ink form other manufacturers. And that will be a pity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great doing business with you! Noodler's inks are always good, but what made them special this time is the extremely shory waiting time (compared to amazon, ebay etc) and fool-proof delivery - which means my excitement for the ink was not killed by the slow delivery! Thanks, Brian and Rachel ! --Satya

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifull color I practically lived off prickly pears during a summer I lived in Mexico, so I probably would have liked this ink due to nostalgia alone. I got a sample and it is in fact that gorgeous color of the fruit's juice. I put it in my "purple" lamy (which looks magenta to me) and they look good together. I plan to get this color ink for editing. I can't decide whether to get this one or Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-budo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance I've finally been able to get one of my drier pens to write smoothy! I'm still undecided about the color as to me it's more on the purple side of magenta and I'm not a purple person. I can truthfully say it's unique amongst the colors of ink I own though! Not sorry to have the full bottle even with the color issue as it does work very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous color I agonized over buying this color, thinking it was a needless indulgence. I am so glad that I got over myself and embraced the joy of color. This may be my favorite ink. One of the things I enjoy most about it is the way it shades differently on different paper--from neon fuschia to drying blood. Now to write some poetry...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little pinky for my taste I'm using this ink in a LAMY Safari with an EF nib; the ink flows beautifully, but possibly because the nib is so fine, the color is coming out lighter and a bit pinker than I care for. I'll try other Eel inks for the flow, but I doubt I'll buy a full bottle of this color, as it's definitely not a color I'll use every day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really lovely color This is my second Noodler's ink purchase and I'm so happy with it. The color gradation is lovely. The one slight issue I have is that it seems to bleed a bit more than other brands of ink I've used, even on cardstock. This would be lovely to use on high-quality paper but probably not for everyday use on standard paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Standout Ink I didn't expect to like this ink as much as I do. It's my favorite for note taking. I really just purchased it because I thought it would look cool in my TWSBI Eco (which it does). However, I like everything about it. It drys quickly on a post-it note, it writes smoothly, and the color really pops. What a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Color Very Unusual This is a great color I put it in the Noodlers pen and it writes great although the pen did leak on my hands when I twisted the top by mistake causing the plunger to move down.At least the color I wore on my hand for about 24 hours was a spectacular kind of rosy fuschia.
