Noodler's Bernanke Blue (3oz Bottled Ink)

3oz (90ml) glass bottle of Noodler's Bernanke Blue fountain pen ink. A quick-drying ink ideal for lefties or anyone who needs a fast drying ink. Dubbed "Fast dry for the Fed chairman", this ink's name is a humorous jab at how quickly the Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has been printing money, that he must need a quick-drying ink for the dollar bills!

Noodler’s inks are handcrafted, so there may be slight color variations from batch to batch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lefty's paradise I'm not only left handed, I'm prbably the MOST left handed person alive. Plotting my revenge on the righties of the world has been made much easier with the advent of Noodler's Bernanke Blue, as my most diabolical plans are no longer a blurry mass of smudges. All would be for naught, of course, if the color disappointed, but it's a nice, bright shade of blue. I'd rate bleed through and show through as excessive, but will gladly trade those results for what you get in return- near instantaneous drying. You really have to go out of your way to smudge this ink. Kwai Chang Caine may have snatched the pebble from Master Kan's hand, but he would be far too slow to smear the Bernanke Blue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is it wrong to love an ink? I love everything about this ink. It's a professional, yet happy looking blue. Dark enough to be taken seriously, but light enough to be pleasing to the eye. It dries nearly as fast as a quick drying gel ink but, when combined with a medium or wider nib, is much more expressive. I first put it in my TWSBI Mini with a fine nib and while it was perfectly fine, I found I enjoyed it all the more when I swapped the medium nib into my Mini workhorse. It doesn't have the shading of some other inks, but it is an all-around fantastic ink. I haven't done so yet, but it's very likely that a bottle purchase is in my future. Stop reading. Order a sample....now!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great ink. Not as effective on Tomoe River Paper First let me say I think Bernanke Blue is a great ink and Nathan Tardiff did something cool making it. The blue is pretty and saturates nicely. However I did find that on Tomoe River paper it just doesn't dry so fast. Which tells me there's something other than just cellulose on that paper (Bernanke Blue responds to cellulose). I can sign my name on the inside cover of my Tomoe River notebook and it is dry in seconds. The facing paper which is the lovely Tomoe River paper requires 30 seconds or more to dry. I would recommend this ink to anyone wanting quick drying, lovely ink, with the proviso that you shouldn't expect the same result on Tomoe River paper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost great This ink has beautiful color, as stated by other reviewers its serious enough but refreshingly light. The quick-dry feature is also really neat and works well. The ink is very enthusiastic and I've found it is able to compensate for rather dry nibs and feeds. Unfortunately, the bleed through and feathering can be real problem, especially if you're like me and wanted a note-taking ink for school. Darn shame really.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feather City It certainly does dry quickly, that's for sure. On the other hand, it doesn't write very nicely. Even on some nicer papers (I'm looking at you Rhodia) it feathers, which is impressive in its own right. If that's the look you're going for, the feathered writing, then Bernanke Blue is the ink for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast dry is an understatment! Got this ink as a Christmas present for my left handed sister in law along with a Noodler's Flex pen. On regular copy paper and notebook paper, I literally could NOT smear the ink. It does show through and bleed through on cheap paper, but for a southpaw, that might be a small price to pay (especially if you have college classes that demand tests to be taken in pen)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, New Noodler's Really does dry fast and has a very nice off the normal scale of VIVID blues. It's very subtle, just the way I like my Blues. My absolute favorite blue, blue/black comes from Fountain pen Hospital (Sorry, Goulet's) and is called Henry Hudson Blue. This Bernanke Blue is giving HHB a run for the money. Both loaded in Noodler's pen. Both inks are slow starters in the Noodler's pens, but once they get going they are great. The Bernanke Blue flows great in M2XX Pelikan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous colour, quick drying I use this in a converted Platinum Preppy which was giving me problems before (the cartridge it came with caused the pen to skip like mad), and is now an excellent pen. I write left handed, so the speed of the drying is a big bonus for me.
