Nemosine Singularity Fountain Pen - Magenta Demonstrator, Fine is rated

Looks great, but ink flow is not the best...
This was my first demonstrator pen and I really love the look of it! It can hold a ton of ink and it's quite a bit bigger than my usual pens - thicker. It's easy to maintain and clean. My only complaint is the ink flow. I tried Noodlers ink in it first and it did not work at all... would skip and leave deletions in my writing... traded it out for a cartridge (J Herbin) and it took a bit of fiddling but the flow is a bit better now but not 100%.

My first fountain pen was a Pilot Metropolitan and I didn't think anything could be better. Then I got this beauty! I was a little nervous about it being a demonstrator, but I just LOVE everything about this pen. I can see the ink level, the nib is PERFECTION, the color is "magenta" but it is a beautiful purple! So glad I found it. Ordered another color and would love to order every color!

A Pleasant Surprise!
I did not have high hopes for this pen. I actually purchased a Nemosine Singularity a year or two ago on Amazon. I ignored the warnings of reviewers who complained of cracks developing at the base of the cap, and sure enough, the pen I received arrived with a crack at the bottom of the cap. I returned it and did not even bother replacing it, concluding that this was just a junk pen that wasn't worth bothering with. For this reason, I was rather surprised to see Goulet Pens start selling this pen: could this be a lapse of judgment on the part of my beloved Goulet Pens, I wondered. I did not plan to buy one, but then a spate of reviews started appearing about these pens, and no one was complaining about cracked caps. So I took the dive. Boy, was I surprised. First of all, the pen writes very smoothly. I got a fine rather than my preferred extra fine because I'd heard they run rather dry. With a very smooth-flowing ink - J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir - the pen writes much more smoothly than many more expensive pens. And because it's so light it's easy to write fast with it. I also haven't had a major problem with the barrel coming undone. It happened once, but if you tighten the barrel and don't over-tighten the cap, there's no problem. My only complaint is that the bottom of the cap, although it is not cracked, has threads that are not cleanly cut, so there's a tiny mass of white plastic at one point in the threads. It looks as if there's a crack but there isn't. Since I bought the purple demonstrator - which is beautiful - this fault is quite visible, which would not be the case with an opaque color. That is the only reason I did not give this pen 5 stars. I intend to buy another one in an opaque color. Dare I hope that I'll be lucky with yet another one of these pens? In any case, this is, as others have said, a very good deal. I would recommend, however, that Nemosine forego all the extra cartridges they provide with the Singularity and instead tend to the cap/thread issue, which is the only thing marring this steal of a pen.
