Lamy Vista Fountain Pen - Medium is rated 4.7684 out of 5 by 95.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely, well thought out fountain pen I've already got a Lamy AL-Star (F) that I use all-day, every day. It's a sheer delight to use such a light, ergonomic, easy-to-maintain pen. I liked it so much, in fact, that I wanted to carry another Lamy pen so I could carry another ink color. That's where my new Lamy Vista (F) came in. I bought it with a converter, filled it up with red ink and found it to be just as wonderful as my AL-Star. Filled with blood-red ink, the clear Vista body really looks cool and I've received compliments to that effect. I'll be picking up more pens over the holidays, but both my Lamy AL-Star and Lamy Vista will be put to much-use between now and then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same Excellent Quality, Looks Cool in Clear I own several Lamy Safari and Al-Star pens so I pretty much knew what I was getting with this one and it did not disappoint. I ordered this pen with a 1.1mm italic nib plus an extra medium nib in black. This pen performs just like it's brethren, that is to say, reliably, laying down an nice, just wet enough line. No skips, blobs, or hard starts. The clear plastics on this one look great and really show off whatever ink is loaded in the converter. One nitpick though, the clear seems more easily scratched than my other Lamys, or maybe it just lets the tiniest ding or scratch show much more easily. In any case, I'm glad I added the Vista to my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1.5 Italic Nib Got this after reading good reviews on it. I wanted to try an italic nib for the first time. I'm glad I got the Lamy Vista. For the price, the quality is outstanding. As this is a Lamy, take Brian's advice and wash/flush the pen and nib since these pens are tested at the factory. When I flushed mine, blue colored water came out. I filled it with Noodler's #41 Brown (fantastic brown color!). The 1.5 italic nib really provides good line variation and it's fun to write with. As this is an italic nib, it is not as "smooth" as a "regular" nib, but it starts every time and doesn't skip at all. Great quality. Thanks to Brian G. for all his helpful tips and advice on his videos!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Feels" different than a regular Safari If you've never had a demonstrator pen before, I recommend this pen, even if you already have a Safari. The Vista and Safari are pretty much identical except for the opaque/transparency difference. I have both, and I really prefer the Vista, though I am a sucker for see-through pens. The quality of the Vista is not as high as, say, the MonteVerde Artista Crystal, but for the price, it's well worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lamy Vista Fountain Pen My first fountain pen purchase in many years I am very happy with the Lamy Vista. I am using it with Rohrer & Klingner ink in a converter. The two are working together beautifully. No skipping, no problems. I ordered the fine nib which I will probably change to an extra fine with my next order. It gives a slightly heavier line than I expected. This probably can be chalked up to my inexperience. I am enjoying the pen very much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Addition I purchased the Vista with a 1.1 nib. It's quite a good pen in many respects. Every manufacturer seems to measure a bit differently. Lamy's 1.1 is very smooth and a bit stiff. However, it writes a bit more narrow than I have experienced with other 1.1 nibs. It does play very nicely with about any ink that I've tried other than those that are prone to feathering, but that's the ink's properties. While the Vista is very good pen that doesn't cause me much concern to carry around, the TWSBI Vac 700 I also have with a 1.1 lays down a somewhat broader line and has a better feel (weight, substance) than this. However, the Vac 700 is almost 3 times the price and that does make a difference. This pen has ridges along the (gripping) section. The way I hold a pen, they are uncomfortable. Naturally, this may not be so for every writer and you will have to be your own judge about this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from To "Go-To" Pen Reliable and easy for a left-handed overwriter to use. Of all the pens I've tried in search of my "go-to" pen, the Lamy Vista with the 1.1 mm nib won as my working pen. I keep the others around to do different things when I want to direct the customer's attention to it, but the Vista gives me the ability to communicate in a distinctive hand, but in a form that is much less likely to simply be forwarded to a potential competitor (like an email would be).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful This is my second fountain pen. It is also my first modern pen, as my first was a vintage medium flex nib pen. I came from the dip pen world before I went to fountain pens. I bought the pen with a black nib, and it is wonderful that the Goulets would allow such varied nib options. I am sure to purchase more nibs, perhaps. The pen itself is a real workhorse, and the nib itself is very versatile. It is very smooth and has not skipped a single time during operation. However, it will begin skipping once you really run out of ink, but thats not a real problem. One of the more significant features that I saw was that the pegs that held the converter in the pen tended to block the ink-view of the converter, but thats normal, as this pen is basically a clear Safari. Nonetheless, you can see the ink slosh around freely inside the pen and the feed itself. The Z26 converter I bought functions very well. Overall, it is a very fine pen, worth the money.
