Lamy 2000 Fountain Pen - Makrolon, Extra-Fine is rated 4.7111 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from the best pen... Ive had this pen for around 8 years and have used nothing else in that time. It was my daily writer, surviving through thick and thin, writing at times for hours on end. Its got an incredibly smooth nib, infinitely large ink reservoir and is understated enough not to stand out in mundane tasks. The passage of years has had only one effect: the originally matte body has developed a shine where my hand rubs against it. Some people like it, i dont care either way; its just something to be aware of. Though till now i havent found any pen to rival this one in terms of pure, reliable and comfortable functionality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Pen, Writes Wonderfully but.. The EF nib really is more like a fine/medium. It is deliciously smooth, writes somewhat wet. Not scratchy in the least. Holds a very good amount of ink and just feels fantastic to the touch. You want to hold this pen. The Makrolon doesn't feel 'sweaty' or slippery after a long time. It's warm to the touch, gives a good grip. People complain about the prongs but I seriously can not notice them. The clip is fantastic and the pen is designed beautifully. I love TWSBI's and all, I have a vac700 and a 540. This just feels right in the hand. The balance, the weight. The size. The click cap. I seriously feel spoiled writing with this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Pen and great service I have been using this as my everyday pen since I got it without any problems. It writes very smoothly, is comfortable to hold, and feels well balanced. I was using a safari with an F nib previously and to me, the XF on the 2000 seems to write around the same width. The customer service from Goulet pens goes way beyond what I would expect with an online retailer. After receiving 2 non functioning 2000s from other vendors, I ordered from Goulet and asked that my pen be inspected before being sent out. Even with this request, my order was shipped out within a day and arrived with a friendly note written with my pen. The pen from Goulet has worked flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ...favorite pen Of course, liking the L2K is a matter of taste and therefore beyond discussion. But owning another L2k and having seen it age so gracefully, acquiring a fabulously personal patina, I can only marvel at the timeless, minimalist wabi-sabi quality of this instrument. This new one is my first EF L2k, so crisp and new next to my well-used M-nibbed veteran, and it wrote perfectly smooth out of the box, slightly finer than my 'fine' Pilots, juicy and with a well defined line (first inking with Organics Studio "Blue Merle"). Special thanks to Goulet's Drew C. Brown for inspecting the pen. Great company, great service, great pen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for I love the 2000. I'm a big sucker for Bauhaus design done right and the 2000 is almost perfect in that regard. I have it loaded up w/ Noodler's Black and use for design notes at work. The good: - color scheme and design - light weight -- I'm trying to write here, don't want to wrestle the pen as well ;) - snap on cap -- quick to uncap/recap - brushed Macrolon -- very nice feel - clip -- it just works ! - nib -- smooth, bouncy, true EF, perfect flow for the ink The bad: - none !! The ugly: - it's a bit on the thick side of things - steel section -- unbalances the pen slightly (I don't post), less comfy to hold.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice pen The nib on the 2000 is pretty solid, I find it has almost no bounce at all. I have found that many left handed writers get on very well with this pen/nib. My 2000s have all leaked at some point or another - I tend to ink them when I need them and don't store them with ink in them for any length of time. I also don't travel with my 2000s for this reason. The finish on this 2000 is pretty good and the pen looks stylish - it is light enough for dainty hands yet large enough for large hands. Personally I find the balance a bit off if posted; unposted the pen is something I can use for a short bout of writing, but anything over an hour and I find my fingers slipping down to the narrow part of the section which is too narrow to be comfortable for me to write.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favourite pen ever! My dad got me this for my birthday, by request. I LOVE THIS PEN! The ink started flowing immediately, no tapping or anything like in the video. I'm using Quink Blue-Black. No matter how long I left it uncapped on my notebook in class, it wrote right away. Note, "how long" was always only a few minutes. The extra-fine is exactly what I like. Not as fine as a Pilot Fine, but then it's not a Japanese pen. Writing is smooth. It even writes upright, when held like a ballpoint. I never imagined I could achieve that in a fountain pen. I personally really like the hooded nib, but that's a preference thing. It allows me to hold the pen as close to the tip as I'd like, and minimizes mess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite pen I bought this pen 2 and a half years ago from Goulet and have loved it since. The nib is extremely smooth even though it is an extra fine size. I don't have any problems hitting the sweet spot of the nib every time I use it, and have never experienced hard starts or skipping. On my pen the metal section has a ring of ink around it about halfway down, probably from where some ink got into the cap and sat on it. I haven't had success getting this cleaned off, though I haven't tried anything beyond water and scrubbing at this point. The pen itself is extremely easy to clean as the section easily screws off and the nib & feed can just be pushed out of the section. Be careful you don't lose the small metal ring with the tabs for clipping the cap on when you do this, though.
