Karas Kustoms Ink Fountain Pen - Tumbled Raw Aluminum

The Ink is a machined fountain pen that comes in aluminum, brass, and copper. This particular model features tumbled raw aluminum. The thread-on cap uses triple-start threads to securely attach itself to the pen and to allow the removal of the cap with only 1.5 revolutions.

You can select from five varieties of sections: aluminum (in silver, black, or tumbled raw finish), raw brass, or raw copper. The clip and screws are made of durable stainless steel clip so you don't have to worry about breaking your clip like you do with most fountain pens.

The Ink uses German-made Bock nib assemblies known for their quality and long life, available in your choice of extra-fine, fine, medium, broad, and 1.1mm stub italic. The grip section and nib unit will be shipped in separate packaging from the pen body/cap for you to assemble yourself.

Comes with a standard international converter and a pack of short standard international cartridges.

We highly recommend our Schmidt made Standard International converter for any additional converter purchases.

Designed and manufactured in the USA.

Karas Kustoms Ink Fountain Pen - Tumbled Raw Aluminum is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good pen for the rough I lead a life where polished gold doesn't work. I like this because I can enjoy having a fountain pen and not worry about it being dainty. I've got the 1.1 mm stub nib, which is nice but doesn't have the same level of italics as the Goulet 1.1 mm nib that I really love. Simple no nonsense pen that's super robust. Suites my style well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful, but with some issues A very robust pen and built to last many years. I have no doubt that it body will endure the punishment of daily use and I think it will be even more beautiful over time. However, the feed and nib are not of very good quality. The writing is a little rough and found some break problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A wonderful pen I received the ink this past Saturday and after examining and playing with all the parts, I rinsed it out and put it together. I was initially concerned about the nib and feed setting securely into the section but I believe I was being overly gentle when snugging the feed down. After I put the convertor in, I did a partial fill with Private Reserve Grey Flannel and actually wrote about 5 pages in a Moleskine. The pen writes very smoothly without skips or burps. The broad nib I bought seems a bit narrower than some I have but still puts down a very smooth wet line. I have noticed that the clip doesn't contact the side of the cap and therefore the pen slides around in my pocket a bit. I'm not really worried, as being tumbled raw aluminum any scratches will do nothing but add character. The only other concern I have with the pen (My Pen only?) is that the cap does not remain tightly closed and the nib has started to dry out a bit between uses. Even with these what I consider minor bothers I would heartily recommend this pen to anyone wanting a good, unusual ( conversation starter) pen.
