Karas Kustoms Fountain K Fountain Pen - Blue Aluminum

The Fountain K is a compact, machined fountain pen that comes in aluminum, brass, and copper. This particular model features blue anodized aluminum. The thread-on cap uses triple-start threads to securely attach itself to the pen and to allow the removal of the cap with only 1.5 revolutions.

You can select from five varieties of sections: aluminum (in silver, black, or tumbled raw finish), raw brass, or raw copper.

Each pen is a little over 5" long and 1/2" in diameter (minus the clip). The aluminum version of this pen weighs 1.1 oz while the brass and copper versions weigh in at a hefty 3.3 oz. The clip and screws are made of durable stainless steel clip so you don't have to worry about breaking your clip like you do with most fountain pens.

The Fountain K uses German-made Bock nib assemblies known for their quality and long life, available in your choice of extra-fine, fine, medium, broad, and 1.1mm stub italic. The grip section and nib unit will be shipped in separate packaging from the pen body/cap for you to assemble yourself.

Comes with a standard international converter and a pack of short standard international cartridges.

We highly recommend our Schmidt made Standard International converter for any additional converter purchases.

Designed and manufactured in the USA.

Karas Kustoms Fountain K Fountain Pen - Blue Aluminum is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a dainty pen I have no regrets in buying this pen. I was a bit hesitant because of the material and the weight but I don't find it too heavy or uncomfortable. The threads are machined very sharp, that might be why the paint seems to have worn on the edges, but since I try to hold my pens loosely it doesn't bother me at all. The nib is very pleasant to write with, it is smooth and wet which is what I like. I got the extra fine and it does seem to be broader than what I am used to for an extra fine but I knew that when I ordered it. In a nutshell this is the pen I take to work. I work on a concrete work bench on concrete floors and although I don't do much writing at work I still want a good fountain pen that will write well and won't bust up if it falls or gets knocked around a bit. The pen also looks cool, the color is very pretty and vibrant and the brass pops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this pen!!! When I unboxed this pen, I was impressed just by looks. It looked even better than those fancy Visconti pens. When I put the stuff together, the cap made a satisfying *chink* when I closed it and the weight is perfect for me since I like to write with my pens more towards vertical. I put a cartridge in the pen (the pen comes with 5 standard international cartridges) to write and started writing random stuff just testing the nib out. This pen has one of the most smoothest nibs (bock makes good nibs) for a german nib. Overall, this pen is not only your knock around throw around machined durable pen, but its superiority in specs and writing has blew me away and even made it to my top favorite pen. Not even a vanishing point could take me away from this pen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Wonderful Pen! I received my Karas Kustoms "K" late last week, and I inked it up as soon as it was out of the box. The pen is a snap to assemble; it is lightweight and compact. The medium nib writes perfectly - I paired it with De Atramentis Myrrh and found that to be a great match for the pen. I like this pen very much and couldn't wait to bring it to work with me today. I will definitely be ordering a second K in another color very soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable Writer tl;dr: This is one of the most comfortable pens I own for long writing sessions (such as when I'm taking many notes while reading a textbook). The aluminum is a reasonable weight (not as light as a Preppy, but not the heft of a Jinhao), the raw aluminum grip doesn't slide around on me, and is small enough to be comfortable. The bit of flare keeps me from gripping the nib itself (unfortunate habit of mine). Also, the color is absolutely gorgeous, especially for something I feel okay throwing in a pocket or letting roll around the bottom of my bag. I prefer Japanese EF width nibs, but this EF is fine enough to not actively annoy me (I tend towards tiny handwriting). It writes smoothly, quietly, and gives me no issues at all. It took more force than I would have thought to screw the nib unit into the grip - recommend grabbing a Goulet Grip or similar to hang onto the nib if you don't like how it feels against your fingers. This is definitely an every day carry item for me. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy duty I needed a bulletproof pen for work. Something that would hold up to serious abuse. I've cracked barrels, snapped sections off, destroyed caps on other pens. This puppy should take anything I throw at it. Only complaint is the x-fine nib is very wet, lays down a line more like a medium. I fill in lots of small blocked forms, have to grab a ballpoint for those. :-(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels right! The pen looks great, the weight feels just right, and it writes smoothly, even before I wear-in the tip. High quality workmanship is obvious. I'll use this pen as a daily writer.
