J. Herbin Rouille D'ancre (30ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle ink This has been described as a 'Dusty Rose' color, and I wholeheartedly agree. A rather 'gentle' ink, soft with its low saturation, but at the same time full of subtle depth with strong shading and edge contrast. Well behaved on good paper, ideally suited for personal correspondence or poetry notes, where the choice of ink carries some emotional weight. Currently in my Ahab (I wish the pen rest on J. Herbin bottles were a bit wider!) :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A wonderful dusty pink I am usually not a fan of pink anything, including ink. However, this is not a hot pink but rather a dusty and easy on the eye color with some very nice shading in a broad nib pen. I have even written letters to a couple of friends who were very impressed with this color. If you are looking for a hot flashy pink then this is definitely not for you. However, if you want a pink that is subdued and easy to look at then I suggest that you give this a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Soft Tanish-pink Ink I alternate between Rouille D'Ancre (rusty anchor) and Bouquet D'Antan (yesteryear's bouquet). Both are elegant soft reds/pinks. They speak quietly, and while I'm a man, I find that they are sunny on my ecru stationery. The Rouille D'Ancre is more masculine, as it leans towards tan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Favourite Ink Brand J. Herbin makes amazing ink, and their colours quickly made their way onto my list of favourite inks. Vert Empire and Rouille D'ancre are beautiful, unique colours. J. Herbin's brown inks are some of the best shades out there, and I have a lot of brown inks in my collection! You can't go wrong with these inks, I just wish it didn't take me so long to try them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You better believe me... In retrospect, I was on a binge imbibing way too many flacons of ink. I ordered four inks from the outfit headed by Mme & M Goulet all at once. They are : Rouille d'ancre (Rust on the anchor) - Another "oh l… l…" ink for me. Another color difficult to explain. Kinda skin-tone color ? Depending on how you perceive "skin-tone". Probably the color of the rusted anchors M Herbin saw on many of his voyagse to India in the 17th century. … suivre...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Ink The tone of this ink and its behavior really does classify it as a more masculine feminine colour (as paradoxical as that may sound). Like a good love poem it encapsulates the idea of duality. The soft shade of pink, almost coral, is accented by some hinted shade of almost-brown, which may be that "dust" which others have used to describe it. The name is most appropriate, when I showed it to my friend he described it as an "almost rust colour" having no idea that the name was french for "anchor rust". I suppose that "dust" which seems to make this ink marvelous may very well be just a hint of rust. Regardless this ink's composition has proven to be one of my favorites. I cleaned out my Noodler's Creaper, which I always kept loaded with my favorite ink, Black Swan in Australian Roses, and while I expected to enjoy the ink I didn't expect to keep refilling my pen with it for three and a half weeks. I used it everyday, and if not for my limited supply I would have used it at all times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new Favorite I'll admit, I purchased this ink on a whim. I was looking for something soothing to take notes in a meeting with and thought this would fit the bill. Its lovely and subdued in my Lamy with a EF nib and shades to a darker almost rust color in a flex-nib pen. I have a hunch it would look gorgeous with a stub nib too, I just haven't had the chance to test it. Its my new go-to ink!
