Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for my style I'm not goth or in any other way particularly dark, but i did want a brownish-reddish ink for my fountain pen. I feel it's a nice eccentricity to match the fountain pen and adds to the rustic aesthetic of using a fountain pen in the 21st century. This color is everything i could've hoped for. In the well it looks a little bloodier than expected which has become a humorous talking point in my research lab. No water resistance, i coughed too close to a page and a small drop of spittle obliterated a letter. Will buy again when this bottle runs out, and will buy from Goulet Pens again if they still carry it when that day comes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diamine Oxblood Ink The Diamine Oxblood ink is the ink color I've been looking for. A deep red with enough brown to make it stand apart from other reds. I've used it on several correspondence letters and I always get good feedback on it. I will also say the Goulet's service is 2nd to none. After placing my last two orders I recieved an email within the hour advising me my order had been packaged and shipped. They do it so fast they even make the Postal Service look good. I wish all companies I deal with provided this kind of customer service. Cudos to the Goulets for their great service. May their ledger books always be in the black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diamine Oxblood, a great color Diamine Oxblood is a great reddish brown color. Slightly different than Diamine's Syrah, which leans more towards the purple. For writing purposes, if you have one do you really need the other? Probably not but I'm happy I have both because they are just different enough that sometimes one is a better fit than the other. I have the Oxblood in a vintage W.A.S.P. with a fine nib. The ink writes on the wet side, but not overly so. It has a good even flow and, in general is well behaved. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes reds that aren't too bright and in your face. As I said, Diamine Oxblood is a great color.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does Not Play Well With Others I want to start by saying I love the color of this ink. It's deep, blood red with a slight hint of rusty brown overtones when it dries. The color is everything I wanted and more. Unfortunately my preferred pen is my Pilot Metropolitan sporting a Fine nib, and these two just don't get along well. This ink works great with my Sheaffer VFM (medium nib), as does the Diamine Sherwood Green, but they both dry up too quickly in my Metropolitan. I already ruled out any problems with nib and feed alignment, since it writes beautifully with DeAtrementis Archive Black (highly recommend this one!). Not a bad ink overall, just too dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diamine Oxblood, Gorgeous Reddish Brown Color!! We got a sample of this color and I?m almost out! Time to buy a bottle! This is a very nice brownish red, no orange tones that I can see. It really does look like dried blood on the page. I work in client service and spend my entire day writing notes while assisting clients. I use plain old spiral notebooks that don?t have the best quality paper and I?ve haven?t had any feathering issues with this ink at all! I used it in my Visconti Van Gogh with a cursive italic nib and had no problems with flow either. We also have Diamine Red Dragon, and compared to it, I prefer the Oxblood, it is a color with more depth, IMHO.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most appropriately named ink I've ever used I dripped some of this ink on my desk while I was filling a pen and wiped it up with a tissue... and it certainly does look like blood. The ink shades somewhat--nothing dramatic, but it goes from a dark red-brown to a clearer red. In a Lamy Safari F, there was no noticeable bleedthrough or feathering on cheap lined paper. For interest's sake I loaded it into a Noodler's Nib Creaper Flex as well--on smooth 20 lb paper with the pen fully flexed, there was absolutely no bleedthrough or feathering. So, if you need a very well-behaved ink with an unusual colour, this would be a great one to have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oxblood I really love the richness of this color. I'm currently using it with a Binder full flex duo XF/XXF Pelikan nib, and the color looks great. It's a very "wet" ink, and laid down on the page a bit too heavy at first. However, after easing slightly on the flex, the color on the page is simply beautiful, with nice shading and tone variations. I look forward to trying this color in another pen with a more accommodating nib. It's a very dark and rich red, with hints of black. It's not bright, and it's very easy on the eyes. This shade could easily be used as an every day color. For those who'd love to write in red, but don't like the "alarm bells" most red inks send off, this may be a color to try.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's nice This is a nice ink. It's pretty well behaved on decent paper, on junk paper it does feather and bleed quite a bit though. I can't complain about the quality of the ink, I just wish it was a little more red than brown... My fault, not the inks, it just wasn't quite what I expected. I will say it is growing on me a little, but I don't reach for it very often. It's just very dark and brown for my liking. Great service from GPC though, fast shipping, nice hand written note with my well packaged purchase. Just a thoughtfully put together shipment. Thanks!
