INK SAMPLE - Pilot Iroshizuku Yu-yake (Sunset) is rated 4.4643 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Orange This is orange. In true I wanted to give it 5 stars, but chose not to because of the price. Yes, it is a GREAT ink, yes it is a good, warm orange; but it's too expensive for "orange" ink. There are plenty of other brand's that make an Orange similar to this, and their quality is just as good. PRICE: The "Iroshizuku" line is superior (flow, consistency, color saturation,...). I HATE the price, but that's something Pilot needs to sort out (Goulet's price is great). If Pilot made iroshizuku more affordable it would be the only brand of ink I use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Apache Sunset? Yes, in the right pen! This ink has the most beautiful shading while staying in the orange family. Some orange shading inks end up a little too red for my taste, but this one is definitely orange orange. The first pen I put this in was a fine nib on the med to dry side and it looked faded and watery, but when I put it in my Creeper (that could use some tweaking because it's been running a little dry) it was stunning!!! I wouldn't recommend this ink for dry, fine nibs, but you will love it in a flex pen or a wet noodle! This ink is definitely on the wet side and has zero flow issues. It's my new favorite orange.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slightly Muted Orange Yu-yake is a slightly muted orange, just a little on the yellow side of orange. When I first tried the sample that I ordered from Goulet Pen Company, I thought it was too washed out for me. I preferred more saturated oranges, such as Herbin Orange indien or Diamine Orange. I had also purchased a sample of Iroshizuku Fuyu-gaki, which is another more saturated orange. However, after using Yu-yake for a couple of days I realized that I prefer the subtle look of Yu-yake, especially in my Pelikan M200, which is a rather wet writer (and deliberately so). Most importantly, I'm a big fan of brown inks -- currently Iroshizuku Tsukushi and Herbin Caf? des ?les. I love the way Yu-yake looks when used on the same page as brown inks. So I bought a bottle of Yu-yake from Goulet Pen and I'm delighted with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pilot Iroshizuku Yu-yake (Sunset) It is so good and marvelous that my sample is already done. It is such a suple orange. Its not tangy or agresive, is instead pasive and flawless. It looks great on white and cream colored paper. I am not a big fan of oranges, but this one has to be my favorite.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a typical "Iro" ink I tried it in 2 pen/nib combos and found it to be OK only. Flow was a little inconsistent and dry time was slow compared to others of this brand. There was a lot of shading which is unusual with "Iro" inks. In my use, I found the color to be more gold than it appears in the swab shop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Liquid sun in a bottle Absolutely gorgeous ink. It'd be redundant to talk about all the qualities of the Iroshizuku line, all colors have impeccable flow, shading, saturation, etc etc. This orange is brilliant without being offensive to the eyes, arguably one of the best out there. I Inked a Lamy Safari Vista with it, and the effect of the light reflecting off the orange ink inside the pen is a nice little touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoyable Orange When I picked up this ink in October, I loved it. It is very bright, perky, cheerful, and fun- right in time for the pumpkin-everything spree (which extended to this ink for me). The more I wrote with it, the more I came to enjoy it. Then that waned- the more I reread several pages written with it, the more I recognize that in fact, it is not the best orange in the world to do long writing with. I have drawn with it as well and it is thrilling for that purpose. The drydown is very swift and the color retains its beauty.
