Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grade A Ink I had been intrigued by this ink ever since reading that French grade school students were required to use it at one point. After finally trying it out, I'm in love. While a swab will give you a decent idea of what it'll look like, a good nib gives your writing several hues of burgundy. I find that the color is dark and subdued enough to be suitable for everyday use, yet interesting enough to set your writing apart from the crowd. I'm reminded of fine wine when using this ink. Behavior in my pens has been excellent as well. Excellent flow and lubrication. No nib creep to speak of. Easy to clean. I'd recommend this ink to anybody.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extraordinary I really enjoy this ink. It's very well behaved and dries quickly. The color is a lovely, dusky purple, neither too bright nor overly saturated, with a nice backbone of gray. Very easy on the eyes, and very professional looking. Much of the nuance is lost with finer nibs, but a broad or flex nib reveals some interesting shading. I would repurchase this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's called Moon "Dust" - should've known. I tried this ink because of the evocative name and wanting a mid-tone purple, which the swatch shows. But it's called Moon "Dust" for a reason - those grey shadowy aspects of the swatch are even more prominent in writing. I wasn't satisfied with the saturation of the color except when dribbled onto the page with a glass pen. Even one of my fairly wet-writing M nibs was awfully grey, and didn't flow as well as other inks I've used in it besides. It had a speckled look that I didn't care for, because of flow issues? It looks best filling up pages of Clairefontaine paper, but for making lists and taking notes at work on mid-quality notepads, it was just too blah. I'd rather have something sharp and deeply colored for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great inks I have 3 J. Herbin colors now with more on the way. Swabs alone don't do the colors justice - the shading and performance has to be seen firsthand. Check out Vert Reseda for a great example - online it looks a bit washed out, but it looks great in person. Still being fairly new to the fountain pen world, I wasn't sure what to expect. I've had a few skipping and non-starting issues with other brands, but have yet to have any problems with any of the Herbins. I've heard of people complain of the bottle design as well, but haven't had any problems myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice odd color To me this is somewhere between plum and taupe with more plum showing when I use a broader nib. I like it mostly because it's easy on the eyes, not too bright but not so pretty that I forget what I'm writing and start to doodle (like with R and K Blue Mare or Diamine Cerise or Noodler's apache sunset). It's going to be a very serviceable ink for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from . A lovely color: I would not describe it as "plum", but it is a red-violet that fades to the namesake "dusty" violet color quickly. While violet is an unconventional color, the muted tone makes it more versatile. Still unsuitable for official documents, but good just about everywhere else. Even with the fine nib that I use, it is still possible to see some of the subtlety of the color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this color from J Herbin I am a new proponent of J Herbin inks. My favorite color from them (until I discover another great J Herbin color). This color has just a hint of violet to it - a brownish, grayish, pinkish mysterious hue. I recently ordered 2 more J Herbin colors and I hope that they will rank right up there with the Poussiere de Lune....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely compromise between fun and practical This is not the first time my boyfriend and I have used Poussiere de Lune. We purchased it because a friend of ours was letting us share his J. Herbin inks, and we love this one! It's a deep, reddish purple, which dries dark enough that it is hard to tell that it isn't black, or deep sepia. While writing with it, it's more clearly purple. It's similar to the color of a healing bruise, thus the name. :)
