Diamine Denim (80ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diamine Denim for dip pen / watercolor paintings I use dip pen in ink followed by watercolor washes to paint musicians during the Blues Jam held Monday nights at the Grisly Pear in NYC. I had just received a sample of the Diamine Denim ink and brought it with me to test. I like the richness of its dark tone as well as the color when diluted with water. I was exceptionally pleased with the way it bled into the watercolor when a stroke of paint met with wet ink. Unlike many blues, I can achieve a full range of values, from an almost black to a mere tint when using it with brush and water. I'm not usually a fan of blue inks, but this one is a winner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, but a bit bland. This ink performs well, but I found myself wishing it was either a truer blue or simply black. It's so close to both that it really qualifies as neither. The saving grace is just how well-behaved it is. No feathering or bleed-through even on cheaper paper and the saturation is phenomenal. Kind of a perfectly well-behaved, bland, blue-black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the blue-black I have been looking for. I am not a huge fan of blue or black ink and some blue-black combinations just don't cut it for me either. However, there are times when one of these colors is a must, such as signing a formal letter or business document. Diamine Denim is great for me and its name is a perfect descriptor. If you have ever seen Levi's dark blue shrink-to-fit 501 jeans before they have been washed then you will have a good idea of the color. This ink is dignified and can be used wherever a formal blue, black, or blue-black ink is called for. I find it a well behaved ink and it does an excellent job with an extra fine nib. I do find it a bit too wet in my Ahab Flex, but that is to be expected, given the nature of the nib in that pen. All in all, this ink is a winner. As soon as I got the sample and used it, I went back on line and ordered a full bottle from the Goulets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just bought a bottle. Have been sampling blues from Goulet this summer and found this and really like it - shades well from my Lamy 1.1 Vista and looks great on papers like the Rhodia dot paper - flows and behaves great and gives a nice shade of blue-black that can be used for most purposes - really like this ink!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Different but still professional I love this ink for several reasons. I was looking for a cool blue-black that was different but could stil be used at work. This is perfect because it is dark, like a midnight blue. It also dries quickly but has a rich wet line out of the nib. Lastly, it flows very well with both pens I've used it in- a converted Platinum Preppy medium and a Lamy Safari medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast favorite I've never been a blue fan before but when I tried the Diamine Denim that came in my Ink Drop samples I fell in loooove. Smooth flow. Saturated but not gaudy. Useful fir daily work. This is THE blue to have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding ink This is growing to be my second favorite ink after Diamine Majestic Blue. The color isn't perfection like the Majestic, but it is a nice shade with one outstanding property I have discovered: On occasion, thoughtless waitstaff will bring me my credit card receipt on that terrible thermal paper with no ballpoint pen. When that happens, I sign with my fountain pen and let them deal with the mess. I feel a bit guilty, but I'm just doing the best I can. I don't have to feel guilty when using a pen with Diamine Denim because it is the only ink I have ever found that will dry on that paper in a reasonable amount of time. I write with broad nib pens, and it goes and stays right on that thermal type paper. It is exceptionally impressive to me, and that is why it will likely be a permanent fixture in my favorite pen (the Majestic goes in my second favorite pen).
