Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Personal Style I have used a fountain pen for over 40 years because I like the way they write, adding a bit of colour just continues to add a bit of personal style. There are various blacks and blues but a deep purple like Diamine Bilberry is a great alternative. It is a rich colour that does stand out in a subtle but not over the top way for use at work. Many have commented over the last number of years they know that it is my comment in margins and they like identifying things more personally. This ink flows a bit more wet and takes a bit of time to dry but not in a way that makes it problematic. Water resistance if low but I rarely have a problem with this. Works for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super deep purple-blue-purple It sparks the debate is purple or is it blue ? I guess it really doesn't matter as long as it is a good quality ink and an attractive, usable color. Bilberry is both. It is a very deep, well saturated ink that can be good for daily use and pretty on a greeting card. While color is deep, it does not feather or bleed through the paper and dries relatively quickly. No shading really with something this deep, but I will try lightening it up with a little water to try some fun writing with a flex nib. I can not remark as to it's water resistance, but I can not imagine something this saturated washing away easily. Good purchase !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent colour A very dark blue violet that might work as a replacement for the standard black or blue-black. There isn't much shading, but the ink does have an interesting sheen. On heavier/smoother paper, the ink has a gold sheen when held up to the light. The ink looks best on bright white paper, but looks dull on ivory paper. Some bleedthrough and feathering on cheap paper, but nothing too drastic. All in all a very good ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep intense purple.. I am thrilled with this ink.. it's wonderful in a wide range of pens, from my Lamy Al-Star & Ahabs, to my Aurora Talentum and Pelikan Souveran 800! Minor feathering on cheaper grades paper, but you won't see that on Clarefontain, Rhodia, or other regular fountain pen papers from Goulet. Beautiful shading and has improved the performance of many of my pens! Oh yeah.. awesome deep purple and nice for my daily journal writing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue with a little something extra! First off, this ink is typical Diamine with excellent flow, lubrication, and saturation though this particular color doesn't offer a huge amount of shading. This ink comes across as a bright blue until upon closer inspection reveals its complexity with a distinct purple tone. I'd recommend this ink to anyone looking for an everyday use blue with that little something extra to set it apart from most other blues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A free-flowing ink in a nice rich color. I am a Diamine ink fan. I have a drawer full of Diamine inks, and Bilberry, the newest addition to my collection, is a new favorite. Some of my Diamine inks are just a tiny bit too saturated. That makes for good color, but can leave unsightly deposits on a nib. Bilberry is a rich color, but I've had no signs of dye build-up on the two pens I've used with it. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reviewing Diamine & Goulet Pen Co. These Diamine inks are smooth and rich. Upon receipt, I filled two pens with each color, and have been using them consistently for almost a month. They're brilliant. I am VERY glad to have discovered Goulet Pens. In DC, I was a regular customer of Fahrney's. Then, of Swisher pens when we moved away. When Swisher closed its online presence, I tried a few others until I settled on Goulet. Great selection, Great prices, truly Extraordinary packaging and customer support. Really an excellent operation. Thanks a million.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Blue I was expecting a more purple ink, but once it gets onto the paper, it is a very interesting blue. Dries fast, no bleeding, no bleed-through, barely any shading. The heavy areas have a bit of shine. This ink works for all occasions. It is dark enough for business, but just different enough for personal use. Another great blue from Diamine. The Diamine inks are taking over my ink cabinet.
