De Atramentis Edgar Allan Poe (35ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Know Poe. He'd be Pleased. Naming an ink after E.A. Poe that doesn't invoke a raven seems counter intuitive. I went to school with him (well, kind of - he's buried on the grounds of my alma mater). This is a dark, saturated green that fits well with the atmosphere of his work and his environs. The shading echoes the nuance of his writing. In short, I like this ink. I'm still auditioning greens, but this one is going to be hard to beat for this Baltimore guy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I purchased a sample of this ink for the vibrant green colour and the literary name. Despite my anticipation, however, the ink did not perform well. The colour is a beautiful, lush green, but it blotched and blabbed significantly as I used it. The performance was so distracting that I cleaned and inked my pen with a different ink later the same day.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lovely color, bad performance Maybe I got a bad sample, but this ink gave me so many starting and blobbing problems. It is the only ink that has given me such headaches! But the green is a very lovely forest green.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pairs Well with Green Conklin Duragraph Finally loaded the sample in my green Duragraph with a 1.1m Goulet stub nib. My Duragraphs (I have one in each color, love them) handle wetter and medium inks. Since De Atramentis tend to lean wet in my experience (though not all of them), I'd hoped for a good pairing performance-wise. I was not disappointed. The flow is smooth, but not too wet or as wet as some of this brands inks. It dries fast enough that this lefty has no problem with it. The color is a deep, cool green. The big bonus? An excellent visual match too. So, an excellent pairing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ink! I got this in the recent Ink Drop shipment, and just recently put it into my EF Cross Metropolis. I was wondering what green had to do with Poe, but the bluish-green evokes tarnished copper or brass, which makes sense. It flows quite nicely in my Cross, and is very wet, especially in my Leuchtturm or on Tomoe River paper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasant surprise I don't normally buy anything green but this swab caught my eye. The green is a rich color- it reminds me of Scarlett O'Hara and her velvet dress. I have only used this in a TWSBI Eco but it flows smoothly and dries fairly quickly so I don't smear my work notes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Green I got a sample of DA Edgar Allan Poe as part of an ink drop subscription. I absolutely love the color of this ink. To me it shades from what I consider a willow green to a darker forest green. Like most DA inks I have tried this does feather on cheaper paper, but I use it in my work planners and personal journal which have better paper so it is not quite as bad an issue. This is an ink I plan to add to my collection at some point!
