De Atramentis Document Ink - Turquoise (35ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fussy Ink! I really like the De Atramentis Document inks. I have five of them however the Turquoise is an extremely fussy ink. On my initial testing with a dip pen the ink feathered badly. I did a second test in my TWSBI mini pen with an EF nib. There was not as much feathering however blobs of ink kept coming out of the pen. I use my pens and colored inks for sketching. My third test was with a Lamy Joy Pen with an EF nib. A perfect match! The ink flows beautifully with some very minor feathering. So yes a fussy ink that will feather. There may be less feathering with a smooth paper. The color is beautiful. I would recommend ordering a sample to test with your pens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Water proof cyan blue I thought this worthwhile to add, since it's a waterproof cyan blue. Color is reminiscient of Pelikan Edelstein Topaz, but stronger in concentration and perhaps slightly greener (might depend on light though). I'm quite happy with the ink, though I might experiment with diluting it. As for the feathering reported by another reviewer, I'm puzzled. I've tried it on every scrap of paper I have, including envelopes and mailers, and I do not see much evidence of feathering. On cheap copy paper there's a minute mini-feathering if you look very close, but that's all. An important thing with all "document"-"bulletproof" inks is to always shake the bottle well before filling the pen. This is typically not needed with conventional inks. Maybe this was the issue?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I want to love this ink...really I do I think I'm in a dysfunctional, co-dependent relationship with this ink. I know it's not right for me, but I keep trying to make our relationship work. PROS: 1. The color is gorgeous. The perfect turquoise, not leaning to aqua as so many do. 2. Well behaved in every pen. 3. The permanence. This is true waterproof ink worthy of signing legal documents. CONS: 1. The bleed is out of control. I don't have the same problem with the DeAtramentis Document Ink - Fuchsia, but the turquoise spreads even when using the finest of Japanese nibs. 2. It's a bit on the pricy side. If it delivered in terms of the flow, I wouldn't quibble at the price. But for this amount of spread...sigh. The value just isn't there when I look at the results. Thank goodness I got a sample...I think this relationship isn't going to be long term, and I will be crying and regretting "the one that didn't quite work out" for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wet and wild This is a relatively wet ink that I found overwhelmed all but the finest of nibs. A Japanese fine nib that ordinarily writes in spider-like script behaved more like a European medium with this ink. Only my Pilot EF nib behaved as expected. The flow on this ink is phenomenal, and it can leave drops on the nib. This ink binds to the writing surface almost immediately. It also binds to plastic almost immediately as well. I found that out the hard way when filling a brightly colored Lamy Safari - immediately after removing the body from the ink bottle, the plastic surface of the Safari where the ink touch was blue and could not be rubbed off. Even Noodler's bulletproof inks are not this aggressive. I don't mind this for an inexpensive daily carry pen like the Safari, but those with favorite or more expensive or with brightly colored plastic pens may want to exercise caution when filling, or remove the converters from the body to fill. I plan to exercise extreme caution when filling my nicer pens. I haven't tried this on a darker plastic pen body yet, but I would expect comparable behavior. As for the color itself, it's a great shade of turquoise blue, vibrant, and takes to paper very well. It dries reasonably quickly for being such a wet ink, though I won't be giving it a smear test with my fingers :-) It's a fairly saturated turquoise compared to others, such as Lamy's or Diamine's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Waterproof Blue I had given up looking for a vibrant blue that is truly waterproof. This is. Dries very quickly, water does nothing to it. Other reviews talked about feathering, I have not noticed that at all. There is a minor degree of bleed through, but for the color and waterproof qualities, that is not at all a concern to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good medium blue ink I've been using this ink for just about 18 months, in a Kaweco Sport (eyedropper), a TWSBI Eco, and a Franklin-Covey (Cross). It flows very well in all three of the pens, and it is one of the fastest drying inks I have seen. As a left-handed writer, this is important to me, for obvious reasons, but I have never gotten a smear from wet ink while using this. It is also absolutely bulletproof--water will not affect it and once dry, it's permanent. This does have bleed through on some papers, like personal checks, but it does not bleed through on my yellow legal pads. The color is a medium blue, more of a royal blue than a turquoise in my opinion, but perfectly suitable for business use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Color of the New Mexico Sky This ink is, simply, gorgeous. Bright enough to whimsically stand out; dark enough to be taken seriously. I habitually color-code my own note-taking, and this blue is restful enough for primary text while still providing good contrast with the other De Atramentis Document colors. On good paper (I use Circa and Arc white), with a 1.1 stub nib, this ink is smooth and wet, with just a hint of shading, very minimal feathering, and no bleed-through. I do not hesitate to recommend this as a daily "go-to" ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Color for Mixing I purchased this to use and to mix to make other colors. The color is vibrant, water resistant and it flows so nicely. I love this ink brand and color.
