Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great black ink! I have been using and trying many black inks over the years and DeAtramentis is the best. I use my pen on and off all day. My "pet peeve" is that I leave my pen open and uncapped next to me. When I pick up the pen to write I expect it to write immediately. In most cases in other inks the tip will dry out and it will take a few seconds to get the ink to flow again. With DeAtramentis black I never have this problem. I could leave my pen uncapped all day and the moment pen is put to paper the pen writes. I don't like the idea of capping and uncapping my pen all day long to use it. A pen is a tool and I expect it to work when I need it. DeAtramentis is the king of black inks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its what it says on the tin. Bought a bottle along with my Lamy Safari, since I hate blue, which it comes with. Its going to stay my daily driver for a while yet, but only because I've got a whole bottle to go through. Its... Pretty bog standard. Its not as dark as Aurora Black or Cosmic Black, and it doesnt shade as well as Black Roses or even Lamy Black. In hindsight, I probably should've gone with Lamy Black due to its much lower price (37cents/mL vs 21cents/mL) Other than that, it shades a bit. It's dark to start with but it can go jet black if you write slower or give it an extra passover. Not as much variation as I was looking for though. Dries a little on the slow side. 12 seconds on my Rhodia paper, 8 on Pentalic. not a problem, but if you're a lefty it may smear. Well lubricated at least. Pen just glides across the page no problem. Overall its just a little too plain for for my tastes. If you want cheap, Lamy Black is better. If you want nice, Aurora Black and Stormy Grey are much better. will certainly switch when this bottle is empty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flows very well, Deep black I've been using this ink for years, its pretty much always in my Falcon. It's great, flows really well and has a deep black look. Serious ink. Non-waterproof, but I've found waterproof inks all flow slower.
