Just the right size!

I bought this as an easily-stored pad for keeping track of how inks look with the lighting and pens I have - kind of like how the Goulet staff supply us with those nice ink-sample notes on every packing slip! For this use, it's perfect. I don't have another real-world use for a quality pad this size, but I also have the Rhodia A4 dot grid pad, which gets a lot of use day-to-day for mechanical sketches, layouts, lists, and general whatever's needed. It, also, is ideal for its job. The pad provides a low-bleed, smooth moderate-to-low absorption surface that shows shading well and doesn't **** up so much ink that it turns all blues into one dark shade.Having read through the other reviews of this pad, I'm not certain of my ratings - where there were ratings, other reviewers had high bleed and high feather... The only ink of 34 samples that bled through for me was Noodler's Fox, which also feathered quite a bit. Every other sample I wrote with has clean sharp edges (at magnification - I was curious) and no bleed-through or shading on the back side of the page. For the quality/value/look-feel ratings, they are absolutes. These are not board-bound archival journals - if it were relative to the class of product I'd have to bump the ratings a point, except for value. It's a bit expensive for a little scratch pad.

Rhodia note pads

Have used these pads for some time. They are very good. And, as always, Goulet service was perfect.

Great product

This is a take-me-everywhere notepad to carry in my bag for notes, ideas, graphing ideas. The easy to tear-out pages make it convenient, as well.
