Apica CD-15 Notebook - Red, Lined (7.05 x 9.92) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Bought this to check paper/pen/ink combinations. At first it seemed to be "a reasonably priced option" and I did not have exceptionally high hopes for the performance/quality. Honestly this is great stuff. I'll be buying more...just have to find a reason!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye Rhodia, goodbye clairefontaine I'm not a huge fan of lined notebooks. I much prefer graph and dot grid. I thought this book might not have enough pages since I use them for classroom notes, but I actually have found it to be beneficial. I have my big graph pads for calculus (mnemosyne), but these are just ludicrously good paper. Compared to Tunisia and clairefontaine, this stuff has paper that is miles better. I wouldn't call it glassy smooth, but it's got that absolutely consistent feel across the page and never catches like wheat paper is so bad at. No iffy spots that randomly feather hard like Rhodia has, and the overall quality just feels higher than clairefontaine. It does lay decently flat. Obviously not wire bound, but flat enough to not be annoying. Sheen is very present. Even see the red in Lamy turquoise. Feathering is completely absent in everything except my kill test (even Noodlers polar inks refused to in a medium nib) baystate blue in a crazy wet double broad, and even then, it's almost none, which is insane. Showthrough is basically nonexistent, this stuff really is double sided, even in your double broad pelikan belching ink down. Dry times are surprisingly good. Honestly, better than Rhodia. I actually quite like the small page count. It actually helps me organize my notes, each notebook lasts about half the quarter, so eight a year, one to midterm, one to final, and they're much lighter than a big Rhodia Pad I was using, saving at least a pound overall in my bag. Still, on balance, I think a150 page one would be awesome. The paper is not pure white, it's ivory white. I prefer this color, it's warm without being crazy sepia, but doesn't mess with the colors of the ink at all. I find the super white Rhoda/CF paper to be kind of eye searing and reminds me of the oppressive days spent in high schools. This paper just feels like something that I wanted to have, want to write in. Honestly, even though I would prefer this to have graph, French rule and grid options, this is an outstanding paper and well made, especially for the negligible price.
