Apica CD-11 Notebook - Black, Lined (5.83 x 8.27) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fountain Pen Friendly The paper is finished nicely. Not too smooth, just barely enough tooth to give feedback. I've tried Noodler's ink (a few colors) and it sits on top too much. Noodler's doesn't seem to bind to itself very well so it smears easily when dried. Herbin ink is *wonderful* on this paper. Pousierre de Lune was my favorite. Cafe des Iles was pretty good too. Note that I'm not too concerned about permanence. I also tried Private Reserve Placid Blue and it stood up tall like Noodler's, and then smeared when dry. Lastly I tried a bottle of Namiki Blue. Not completely sure exactly which color it is, just a blue color. It is very saturated, took a little longer to dry, and I expected to have smearing when dry because of that. But NO! It was great! Except for the dry time, the Namiki ink performs awesomely on this paper. For most of these test I used a Noodler's Ahab flex nib pen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable sized notebook with good paper I enjoy the notebook and writing with a fountain pen is a nice experience. It is not as glass-smooth as Clairfontaine, but I think that is a good thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent store Years ago I found an Apica notebook in a bookstore in Los Angeles. It instantly became my favorite notebook. I used it almost every day. But once it was filled I was stuck. Eventually I stumbled across Goulet Pens online and they not only had an amazing selection on Apica Notebooks, they also had them cheaper, and delivered to my house in no time. I've come back several times to refill my supply and I will continue to do so. Thank you for keeping my writing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A pleasant surprise! I was looking to build a A5 sized travel notebook system and needed to find good notebook inserts I could use with various fountain pens and inks. My requirements were soft covered, A5 sized, side stapled or stitched binding, and minimal feathering and bleed through. Included in my testing was the Apica CD-11, Clairefontaine 1951 staplebound notebook, Clairefontaine Basic staplebound Duo, Clairefontaine Classic staplebound notebook, Leuchtturm1971 Jottbook, and Rhodia Classic side staplebound notebook. The pens and inks I used were a Pilot Custom Heritage 92 fine with Iroshizuku Kon-Peki, Pilot Custom 74 medium with Noodler’s Libery’s Elysium, Twsbi Vac 700 fine with Noodler’s 54th Massachusetts, Lamy Al-Star fine with Nooder’s Apache Sunset, and Lamy Studio fine with Noodler’s Bulletproof Black. This was my first experience with Apica and the CD-11 performed very well. The paper had a little bit of feedback to it, but not much. There was minimal ghosting and absolutely no bleedthrough. I enjoyed the 7mm rule quite a bit. The stitched binding seemed very strong and didn’t give me any durability concerns. Although only 28 sheets, it was priced accordingly and I think I actually prefer the smaller sheet count because I’ll be able to double and triple up these into my travel notebook system. The cover is also quite attractive and I like that it’s offered in several covers. The Apica CD-11 is a quality notebook that definitely worked well for my needs and I have no problems recommending it to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Notebook Love I love notebooks! I own many different styles in many different sizes and shapes. But, sadly, as much as I absolutely love my notebooks, I abuse the heck out of them :(. Remember Elmyra from Tiny Toons? Remember how much she loved animals? Loved them to death - literally?! Yeah, that's me with notebooks. I love them and hold them and carry them all over... and then they start to fall apart and, after a short life, die a horrible death --*if*-- they aren't good quality. I bought the CD-11 in black, light blue, and sky blue from here and I also have the CD-15 in red. They are excellent. I have drug them everywhere for about a month now and they have held up after all the love (abuse) I have given them. And - the paper!! Not only is it nice and smooth to the touch, but there's no fountain pen ink bleed through. Thanks, Goulet, for your personalized service, and prompt delivery of great quality products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality of paper for a slim notebook I'm used to the Italian paper (Fabriano), pleasantly surprised by Japanese Aprica quality good composition of paper which gives a nice softness to writing experience. I wasn't expected such slim notebook but taking in consideration the quality vs the price I think is ok.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Project Note Books I got these to use for separate projects and to keep in their own project notebook. Very satisfied as the size and FP ink friendly paper lets me use different pens and nto have to worry about notes on the back of the page. Will likely get more for future use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for Trip Journal I like to keep a seperate journal when going on vaction. Smaller sized notebooks fill up to quickly or have to many pages. Larger ones also have to much paper and are more diffucult to carry around. This fits nicely in my camera bag or day pack.
