Apica CD-5 Notebook - Pastel Assorted Colors, Lined (2.83 x 4.02) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute size, amazing paper quality I bought this as part of the Notebook sampler to try out different pen and ink combinations. This paper is so thin, I had my doubts, but it really works well with fountain pen ink. I splattered some ink when testing out some colors, so I'm providing you the picture of the back of that page so you can see just how little bleed through there is, after two huge globs of ink settled on the page. I decided it would be better to just let it dry than to try to clean. I thought this would have ruined the next several pages, and instead the back of the "'accident" is still quite usable. I've had worse bleed through with regular penmanship and the wrong ink in my Quo Vadis and Rhodia notebooks! This is probably not my go-to size although I can definitely see some uses for to-do lists, email addresses or phone numbers, etc. I'm looking forward to trying out some larger sized Apica notebooks in my next order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paper, perfect size, value priced Never be without a note pad again! Perfect size for a shirt pocket. Looks nice enough to pull out to jot a quick note during a business lunch. Paper is s-m-o-o-o-o-o-o-t-h. Have used with several inks and have experienced no ghosting or bleeding. Lays flat (very important for a notebook this small). Best bang-for-the-buck for a go-anywhere pocket notebook.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth writing experience! I really like this paper. To me, the paper is almost as smooth as Rhodia. It is thinner, and as a result there is some ghosting but no bleed through (except for Noodler's hunter green with a very wet nib). In my opinion, the ink dies faster than on Rhodia. The notebook looks great and also is pretty sturdy. The only reason that I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the ghosting is a tiny bit distracting. Also, the cover is thinner than I would like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smooth This paper is smooth as glass. It handles a wet ink very well. No bleed through no feathering. It is very high quality. I like that it is small enough to fit my shirt pocket and it take very little space. What I don't like is that the pages are not perforated. I take quick daily notes at work and tear out the pages at the end of the day. The problem with that is that the stitched binding comes off and that is the end of the notebook. That is why I gave it three stars. After you take out a few pages the binding becomes very loose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very small and handy, good quality notebook I ordered this little notebook along with the smallest size of two other brands (Clairefontaine and Rhodia Ice, both staple bound). This one is the smallest of the three and would easily tuck in almost any place you'd want to carry a notebook. To have 34 sheets of paper it is surprisingly thin. I received the one with the yellow cover, which is actually a light tan. I've not written on the front of the cover, but I did write on the inside of the cover and it took the ink well. This style notebook would be suitable for most anyone who wants a very small, easy to carry notebook. The lined paper is a slightly off-white color and has a nice finish. The paper is thin, but my Metropolitan fine point pen with Kon-Peki ink did not show through to the back and did not feather. Using a TWSBI with a 1.1 italic nib and black ink, there was some show-through but no bleed-through or feathering, so I'd say the paper is fountain pen friendly. I can use both sides of each sheet with no problem. The pages are not perforated to tear out easily, if that matters to you. It is nicely bound with a sewn binding, a quality feature in a notebook currently costing under $2. I'm pleased with all three little notebooks. The Clairefontaine wins in smoothness and quality of paper, the Rhodia Ice for number of pages and micro-perforations, and this Apica for being the most unobtrusive and easiest to carry, as well as for lowest price and having a lot of pages for its thickness. This is an all-around good little notebook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome A sweet little notebook that fits easily into a shirt or pant pocket. I keep one in the car too. The quality of the paper is great and it has a nice cover. They also lay nice and flat when opened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising Paper Quality Not only is the paper of superior quality, which performs well with the TWSBI EF nib, but the size of paper holds a great deal of notes. Fits unnoticed in shirt pocket.
