Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brought New Life to My Safari Pen Before switching nibs to a stainless fine nib, I did not use my Lamy Safari at all. The only time it saw action was to see if it was still a let down, which it always was. I don't know if I got a bad nib or if it was just me, but the black EF nib was very scratchy and dry. I flushed the pen with water, swapped the nib, refilled the converter and took it for a spin. Holy schniekees, the difference is unbelievable. I don't want to write with anything else now. If you are unsatisfied with your Lamy Safari with an EF black nib, swap nibs and see if it helps. It did for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Choice I use my Lamy for work consistently , but i noticed the Fine nib was just not working well with the type of recycled paper we use. I used alot of ink and the writing seemed to flare out more than I liked, so i purchased the Extra Fine Nib and it was exactly what I needed to do. Better ink usage, very little ink flaring and better control in writing using the Extra Fine nib. I love this pen. The Fine nib I can use at home since I use better quality paper. Excellent service as always. Top Quality products as always. GREAT JOB !!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from extra-fine nib was smooth on a recent q&a brian stated that the extra-fine lamy nibs were ground individually, and that this has led to some variation in quality... this nib is extremely smooth, even taking into consideration that it is an extra-fine...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EF tip is nice; F may be better all-around I have been using my Lamy Al-Star pen for nearly 2 years and absolutely love it. In fact, I seek reasons to write longhand just because the pen is so pleasing to write with. I have a few nibs for it. Just got the EF and wanted to comment in hopes it'll help others who are debating as I was. In a nutshell, I suspect the F is a better all around, everyday nib, but I really like the EF when it's important to write small like when editing a piece of work or making notes in tight places. The EF nib does feel a bit scratchy, although it moves smoothly across the page, and the line is smooth. I have seen others say it can take a few days to break in a new nib. I dunno. My main point is that despite a tiny bit of scratchy feeling, it writes perfectly. And this is on everyday paper as well as a higher grade paper that's recommended for fountain pens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from EF nibs aren't always EF! I got a blue-green Al-Star with an F nib and it writes very well but I wanted the option of an EF nib so I ordered this. With Noodler's Blue Nose Bear, the line from the EF nib is exactly the same size as the F nib! So I left the F nib on the Al-Star and I'll try this one out on my NEXX. Quality is excellent and these nibs are pretty tough and very easy to exchange.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Consistent Lamy EF nib Have used this nib ~ 2 months. For the euro version of an EF the pen writes very well- no skips etc. Tactile feel is there but not scratchy. Presently using Watermans Mysterious Blue, a middle of the road as the Lamy is my everyday pen. For now. I can't give it 5 stars as we aren't talking a $300 pen (nor do I really want one)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to swap I bought this nib to replace the medium nib that came with my Safari. The fine is proving to be much more appropriate for my handwriting. Being my first time swapping a nib I was worried I'd either break the pn or damage the nib, but with the help of Brian's video on how to easily swap Lamy nibs I was completely successful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great EF nib Many people buy a Lamy Safari as a starter pen and with the ease of cartridges and converted and swappable nibs its a winner. I have several other more expensive pens, but keep coming back to my safari for its smooth flow and utilitarian feel. This EF nib is not scratchy, flows well and works great.
