Rated 4 out of 5 by from I should have shopped here first. I spent the same amount of money on some attractive but ultimately not FP friendly paper in the calligraphy section of an arts & crafts store. I picked up the alternative to try because it was there in front of me. My EF came out as BB. Goulet Pen Co. to the rescue! This G. Lalo stationery is excellent. I like the warmth of this paper's color; however, the color combined with the thickness did allow the lined paper I had underneath to show through very well. If you want to use lined paper underneath as a guide, perhaps one of the lighter varieties would be better. This paper takes a wax seal very well and goes well with G. Lalo's small envelopes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from G. Lalo Verge de France G. Lalo is one of my favorite papers. I use the Ivory and it is a beautiful complement to my various ink colors. I decided to try the Champagne and fell in love all over again! The darker color is even more lovely than the Ivory! Inks such as J. Herbin's Lie de The and Lierre Sauvage are very elegant on this paper. and Noodler's Rome Burning is spectacular! I love the tooth of the G. Lalo papers and this one like the Ivory allows just a bit of that wonderful scratch with a fountain pen. Writing with the G. Lalo papers is a complete sensory experience! A wonderful, world class paper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Paper The weight and feel of this paper is truly unique among any paper I have used and will surely stand out to whoever the recipient of your letter will be. It has a handmade quality about it, and the texture of the paper is amazing to the touch as well as to the pen. It has a satisfying grit that does not drag or scratch and is simply a joy to write on. Compared to Clairefontaine it is not "smooth" but this does not mean the paper is bad or lacking. In fact, G. Lalo paper adds a whole dimension of character, personality and warm because it is not completely and utterly smooth. The paper does not bleed or feather at all. The only negative would be that it is a bit expensive, but if you can, it is well worth it to add this paper to your stationery wardrobe. This paper elevates your letter writing from novelty in a digital age to the true art form that the personal handwritten letter is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from G. Lalo tablet Excellent for no shadowing or bleed-through with fountain pens, but the paper is a little textured and rough, so if you are expecting the smooth Clairefontaine type paper this is not it. It is very nonabsorbent or dry--not sure how to put it--to the point that if you like a really fine lined pen you will have to even write more slowly. And the paper is quite heavy--thicker than most writing paper--to keep in mind as far as paying for postage goes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Elegant! I like this paper a lot but I feel I have to write slowly or you don't get that smooth spacing and cursive you would like. Great for personal letters, really says " I took a little extra time to write you this".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal Stationery Has the exquisite feel and performance of a fine art paper, taking ink like a dream and enhancing the line in a magical way. Elevates a simple Thank You note to the status of a Papal edict.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent correspondence paper This paper is a very nice cream color with a subtle texture. There are horizontal textured lines with about 2mm spacing that are useful for making sure your writing stays level and also horizontal lines at about 30mm spacing that almost look like a watermark in that you can only see them when you hold the paper up to a light. The texture does feel a little scratchy when writing but that doesn't pose any problems. I had no bleed on the few notes I have written so far. Overall this paper is extremely pleasing to write on and gives a very elegant impression.
