Rated 4 out of 5 by from Oh snap this smells good! I bought the sample of this ink, and tried it on several different pens with consistent results. A beautiful color with just a slight amount of shading. Of course, you really just buy this ink for the smell. It smells like the cherry Mr. Sketch markers you used as a kid, which is to say, you can't take your nose away from it. In all the pens I tried it's definitely on the wetter side. On a more absorbent paper, with a wetter pen, it looks like I used a sharpie marker. In a dryer pen, on less absorbent paper, it is pretty well-behaved. It doesn't smell on the paper, only in the pen, so you get a nice scent of sweet cherries while writing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually Scented, and its surprising. The is the third De Atramentis scented ink I've used. I bought it because I needed a red, and it is a lovely color. In the pen it resembles blood. Its a more brown red, and that's perfectly fine for me. This is the first time I've actually been able to smell the scent of the ink, and it reminds me a little of the Mr. Sketchy markers we have as kids. My boyfriend loves cherry and every time I get my Preppy eyedropper out (full of Cherry) he asks to smell it. This is a wetter ink, but its beautifully smoth. It is not a very bright red, but it looks beautiful on off white paper, especially.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Every Ink is a Winner De Atramentis Cherry smells like cherry, there is no denying this, however only in the bottle, once in your pen then dried on paper there is no scent at all, not even a hint. Which is a shame as that was the experience I was hoping for. Which leads me into my second disappointment, the colour; it wasn't that dark at all compared the pictures shown, much more of a light burgundy red rather than the deep red I was hoping for. All in all I was fairly let down by this ink, thankfully I have my good old faithful; Red Dragon to satisfy my red ink needs. Maybe next time De Atramentis!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from De Atramentis Cherry I use this ink when grading student work and it is fantastic. With the added scent benefit, my students love getting graded work back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can actually smell the scent faintly. For the novelty this ink has (the intended cherry smell), I actually decided to buy this because I wanted a non-black drawing ink for my manga drawings. I'm able to smell this when I lean to the page when I draw and that's a good sign as I never considered myself to have a great sense of smell. That said, I do like the colour a lot and it flows perfectly through my (fine) Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop. Recommend for drawing: Yeap. Recommend for writing: Yeap. But don't expect the scent to be strong if you don't have a keen nose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun and Rich I have a lot of De Atramentis inks and on the whole I like them all. Being a cherry red I expected this to be a more red ink, to me it feels more like a dark or black cherry color. The scent isn't as strong as others like my Frankincense ink, but it is still noticeable. However, I really enjoy the dark red of this ink and it is fun to write with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What's That? It Smells Like Cherries! I opened the bottle, and immediately breathed in the scent of cherries. Then I chuckled and said to myself "I like that." Smooth flowing, but tends to dry up rather quickly if the pen is left uncapped. To my eye, the touch of brown/black darkens the red, making it acceptable for business correspondence.
