Rated 5 out of 5 by from An unexpected shade of Turquoise A very well behaved ink, Eau de Nil has a beautiful shade of Turquoise, with a touch of grey. I loved this ink; now is one of the must have in my daily carry. I love blues, blue blacks and dark turquoise colors; the shade of this ink is very special with a fair amount of shading. You'll notice the darkness of the ink changing from light to dark depending on the thickness of the nib and the wetness of the pen. Beautiful ink

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indescribable I love Diamine Eau de Nil. It's not teal, it's not aqua, it's not turquoise, not blue nor green. I don't have a single colour quite like it in my largeish collection, so it's absolutely worth owning an entire bottle of. The odd thing is, though, that if you Google it you'll find that the colour called Eau de Nil is a light yellowish green, celadon, I guess, which this is nothing like. I don't know where they got the name from. Doesn't change the fact that it's gorgeous, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fabulous ink! I just love this color! I'm super fond of those in-between blue-green shades, especially as they grow darker and have a touch of black. Diamine Twilight is another favorite of mine, and I'd say that the two are like siblings - Twilight is more of a black, while Eau de Nil is brighter. Like winter and summer inks, maybe? Anyway, Eau de Nil makes a lovely watery blue-green-hard-to-pinpoint line with my Waterman Phil‚as medium pen. It's not the most businessy color, but it's good for notes and personal writing. But then! I put it in my Konrad Flex and the line is much wetter, as tends to happen with the Noodler's pens, and it darkened up nicely. It's actually about the same color-feel as Twilight in my Phil‚as, whereas I tend to think Twilight is too black in the Konrad. (My Phil‚as tends to bring out the lightness in Diamine inks.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this ink! Saw this ink first on one of the Goulet receipts - wrote immediately to find out what the nib was as well (a Lamy Vista with a 1.1) and straight away bought both pen and ink. This ink isn't an overbearing color at all, more "subtle" - so much so that sometimes I feel like I might want a little more color - but, the shading makes it really striking on the page, so I'm always satisfied - I have used it a lot this month and like it more every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eau de Nil a kinder, gentler aqua/turquoise To me, Eau de Nil is greener than a true turquoise and bluer than a true aqua, with just a touch of gray or black. It is not as in-your-face as a true aqua or turquoise and I much prefer it to either. While I wouldn't necessarily use this in a business situation, I think it would be fine to use in a friendly letter. It is a cheerful easy to read color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting, but not a daily. I wrote the first page of a letter to a penpal in this ink. It works well with the pen I paired it with (a Parker Vacumatic). Zero issues with Moleskine paper and is a dream on Clairefontaine's Triomphe. My biggest issue is the color itself... strange, I know, considering I'm giving it 4 stars. It gets that rating from me due to its positive properties. It does shade going from light (yet distinct) to heavy and pronounced. The ink and nib combination makes the overall writing experience very smooth and controlled. The color... has its applications. I could see using it as an art ink (as I had a pan of watercolour very similar to this). With a brush, nice washes could be made and with a flex nib fountain pen, some expressive pen & ink drawings could possibly be made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A wonderful teal colour In my opinion, this is quite an understated teal colour. It is subdued enough that it fits into formal situations, but it also possesses such a nice character that it is very distinct from your run-of-the-mill shade of blue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Blue Ink I Actually Like I am not terribly fond of blue ink, in general, but this color is a very rich teal sort of blue that I find very appealing. Finally, a blue ink that I enjoy using!
