My name is Brian Goulet and I make pens. Not just your ordinary, run of the mill, everyday pens, but handcrafted pens made from exotic woods.

It all started when I purchased my first lathe. I decided to try pen making just for the heck of it. I made my very first pen and I knew I was hooked. I made another and another and another, showing my wife Rachel each one with child-like excitement.

Not only did I enjoy making them, but it turns out that I was pretty good at it too. At the time, Rachel and I were living in an apartment. We had a covered balcony that I quickly filled with all kinds of tools and woodworking supplies. I frequently had to cover my tools with tarps to keep them from rusting out every time it rained.

Not long after my first few pens, word began to get around about my handmade creations and before I knew it I had my first corporate order for over 120 custom pens. After a couple of noise complaints from the neighbors and one too many rain showers, we decided to move into a house with a detached 700 square foot workshop so that I could truly focus on my pens.

I craft each pen myself, from a small block of wood into a beautiful turned pen. My passion for beautiful exotic woods and woodturning are brilliantly showcased in every custom piece that I make.

Wood pens have a reputation for being "anti-writer's cramp" pens, because the wood itself helps the hand to hold a better grip while writing. There are numerous types of exotic woods that are naturally so stunning that they cannot be replicated through man-made processes. I have researched and personally experimented with every finishing technique known throughout the industry. My solution was to create my own 8-step process that provides the best blend of shine and durability, which supplies the initial "Wow", while still showcasing the natural beauty of the wood and allowing the wood to patina over time.

I have worked tirelessly to provide the highest quality pens and gift items available.  Because I have such high personal standards for the products I ship out, I include a signed Certificate of Authenticity with each pen.  This certificate is proof that your gifts are made with you in mind. Each pen is also assigned a unique serial number. Every item is made on demand, per your specifications.
