Extended Information:
Located in the Vosges region of France, Clairefontaine was established on the site of a 16th century paper mill. The Clairefontaine mill has been making paper since 1858 and stationery products since 1890. The River Meurthe supplies the water for Clairefontaine's Vosges mill. The water is so clean when it leaves their high performance biological treatment station that local people can fish, swim and boat downstream within sight of the manufacturing facility. The company is best known for being the first school stationery manufacturer in France.

All Clairefontaine notebook paper is 90g, acid-free, pH neutral for archival quality.

This paper is a joy to write on. It makes the pens behave they way they are supposed to. Inks shade well, there is no feathering- it just makes you look good.
Because it is a glued tablet, you will get better results if you separate the glue from the top  5 or so sheets of the tablet with a fingernail or a knife before pulling any. After that the sheets will  release easily.

After searching on the fountain pen network, I decided to order Clairefontaine Triomphe paper.  I found the Goulet website and have been very pleased with the service.  I will definitely order this paper from this website again, as soon as I have written a few more letters!  The order was shipped quickly, and the personal written note was a very nice touch.
All my stationary needs will be met here from now on.  Thanks so much, and happy writing!

I have to admit I'm a newbie when it comes to this paper. Forms at work  never come on Clairefontaine paper. I was pleasantly surprised. The fountain pens that were a bit scratchy on work forms were not in the least scratchy on this paper. It really does make a difference if you have good fountain pen paper.

My first choice for spreading words August 26, 2010
Reviewer: Mara Seaforest from Warrenton, VA United States
Clairefontaine's Triomphe line of writing paper is the very best available to today's fountain pen user. Its silky-smooth surface allows my nibs, whether fine and on the dry side or (as is my preference) broad and wet, to glide without hesitation or bleeding. Any ink put down on it looks its very best.

One caveat, however: This is not the paper for you if you're stubborn about writing on both sides to show how frugal you are -- it's too translucent a sheet for that, really, but I think that's part of its charm. Ah but fear not about the content of your correspondence becoming legendary amongst the employees of your local post office. The envelopes are reasonably opaque.

Cranes, Lalo and other heavier papers may be lovely for engraved stationery (and they take sealing wax so nicely!) but Clairefontaine Triomphe is the paper you want never-ever-EVER to run out of. Buy plenty, therefore.
