Transitionary Nib Period February 22, 2013
Reviewer: That Guy Eric from Atlanta, GA United States
Sorry, I'm that guy.  I didn't realize that we are in a transitionary nib manufacturing period when I ordered the pen.  I did not understand why I had two nibs when it arrived.  I filled the pen (by the way, this pen does NOT fit far enough into the sample ink containers sold here.  You need the VAC 700 ink well or a large bottle of ink.)  and put it in my bag.  It outright refused to write well and I had to start looking at forums and youtube to figure out why.  I thought that I was the problem by not always opening the top release.  Once I realized I had the bad nib from reading a review, I followed the instructions here on how to change it.  Now, it works perfectly and I love the pen.  If you receive both nibs, change it immediately and don't waste one of your ink samples filling it only to dump while changing the nib.

This pen is perfect now and it travels on planes really well due to the ink shut-off.  Highly recommend.

Service Excellence & Great Product January 31, 2013
Reviewer: Jim S from Tucson, AZ United States
TWSBI has hit another home run with their Vac 700 series pens. The vacuum system on these pens is one of the smoothest working and best filling out there. It's a very smooth polished steel nib, so it has little "bounce" but that's to be expected for a pen under $90. Regardless, it's reliable and a comfortable writer.

Goulet's service and customer care is wonderful. I continue to buy products from Brian and Rachel, and their great support staff, because it's a family run business. The price is competitive and the service is without equal in the industry.

What more can be said? Keep up the great work Goulet and company.

Blessings
Jim

TWSBI 700 January 17, 2013
Reviewer: David Leibowitz from Cupertino, CA United States
Very nice pen. Steel nib better that most current steel nibs. Slightly stiffer than gold, but very smooth. Vac filling system works better than the Visconti systems, fun to play with. The pen is a little longer than I expected it to be, but that is entirely personal preference and hand size

Vac 700 January 8, 2013
Reviewer: David Rapp from San Jose, CA United States
The pen itself is nice and the filling mech is pretty cool.  I like the size of the pen and the weight.  The pen came with a nib replacement because TWSBI is switching to Jowo nibs vs. Bock.  At first I thought the pen came with a standard size nib and the size I wanted is sent with the pen.  Brian clued me in.  I changed the nib without trying the pen first.  It wrote too wet and much thicker than the Broad I was expecting.  Much thick than the nib nook shows.  I switched the nib back to the Bock and the thickness is better and I like it, but it skips a lot.  The skipping is why they are changing the nibs in the first place.  So, nice pen, but the nibs are not making me happy.  I think I'd rather have a Monteverde nib like on the Arista Crystal on the 700.
