Another Excellent Black
May 5, 2013
Reviewer: G. J. JENSEN from IDAHO FALLS, ID United States
Performance is excellent. Waterproof, no bleeding/feathering. No problems observed with any nib/paper combination [including 100% cotton papers].
To be honest, though, (with the dip pens that I use) I really can't see any difference in feathering/bleeding between X-feather and the standard Bulletproof Black. Essentially no feathering with either ink on any paper except really poor quality newsprint.

My everyday ink.

I simply enjoy writing with this ink for everyday notes and journal entries. It writes exceedingly well on most papers. And thank you for the ED Platinum Preppy: It's perfect for note-taking.

It's black all right...

Good shade of black. Haven't filled it yet, just dipped noodled it around. Doesn't seem to feather, even on cheap paper.

Black as black can be
March 18, 2013
Reviewer: James Simon from South Boston, VA United States
A beautiful dark dark black. In an Ahab there is no color change as the width changes. True to its name it doesn't feather unless it is on some pretty nasty paper, like newsprint so it gives lovely sharp edges to strokes. In a Pilot Parallel that is 3.8 mm wide you really can see how dark it is, solid uniform black. I'll never use anything else for black ink.

Noodler's X-Feather (4.5oz) with Free Pen
March 8, 2013
Reviewer: Katheryn Byrd from Ramsgate, Kent United Kingdom
I can't say much for the pen as I don't like it's nib - too hard, too fine, but a nifty extra with a ballpoint nib which I will probably switch too! The ink hasn't had a problem on any of the papers I've used it with, I will continue my tests with great pleasure! The ink itself is what I would consider a great everyday ink that does what it's supposed to.

Confusing
March 6, 2013

This is a very nice, free-flowing back ink. However, I am a little confused as to its alleged anti-feathering properties. In my experience, it feathers just as much as any other wet ink. Noodler's Black is better on bad paper, in my experience.

Great Ink!
February 27, 2013
Reviewer: MSP from Florida
Admittedly I am a novice when it comes to inks, but this has to be a great one! With the purchase of the 4.5oz container I was able to also receive a free Platinum Preppy eyedropper which I am using in conjunction with this ink to great effect. The high flown "no feather" claim holds true and I find this ink great for writing on "bad" paper at places like school. For the person who travels at lot or has to work in the office, but refuses to sacrifice the pleasure of writing with a fountain pen, I would recommend this ink. However, one word of warning for lefties - this ink has longer drying time in my experience! It shouldn't bother you by the time you reach the next line of your paper, but if you're the kind of person whose hand drags across the page you may want to look for a faster drying ink.
