A good black. It was a bit gray for me, but it started easy and flowed well. Not waterproof. Consistent line on several different paper types. Dried pretty quick.

Aurora Black is known to be saturated, but I think it's a bit pricey for a black ink. Noodler's Black in comparison has more properties added for value. It's a very wet ink, which is good for super smooth flow and for drier nibs.

This is a really black ink. Much darker than my Heart of Darkness. I find that it works very well in my dry Lamy 2000. good purchase

Bought a Lamy Safari and Aurora Black ink	December 28, 2012

Lamy Safari first of all was an amazing buy for a first fountain pen and being a left-hander. Unimaginable fluidity coupled with a funky smoothness made this an absolute winner for me.
Couple this with the Aurora black ink which was a super dark black ink that dried so quickly, it is a winning combination for sure.
The service of this website is nothing short of amazing and handwritten note from Alex Ross shows a personal touch which I do appreciate. I WILL buy from you guys again soon that's for sure!

This is my favorite ink of all the inks I've tried. I like my black to be very black. The only other black I use is x feather for my flex nibs. Awesome!

This ink is pretty nice but not as dark as I'd hoped. However, it does shade nicely without becoming too gray. The lubrication is nice, but it's almost too much in a wet pen. It's also not as water resistant as I'd hoped.

This black is a little on the wet side for a black but to my eyes it's the purest of the *many* regular (non invincible) blacks I've tried. No shades of gray, just pure black. No bleed-through on the cheapest notebook paper.

Aurora is one of the only two blacks that I'll use because of its consistently great behavior in both modern and vintage pens and because it lays down a solid black line. It's a great black ink if you're concerned about Noodler's in certain pens (which I also use frequently). I don't even bother considering other blacks now. I just wish it was sold in larger bottles!
