The Pilot Prera has a clean and simple look and writes luxuriously. The newest body line is even more unique with its crystal-like acrylic bodies and color accents. You can fill the pen with the ink of your choice by using the included converter, and the transparent bodies allow you to see the ink levels remaining in the converter or an ink cartridge. The pen feels very well made, is ergonomically lightweight, and the alloy nib is delightfully thin enough that you can use it for everyday writing. Each pen comes with a CON-50 converter.

A pocket pleasure. February 26, 2013
Reviewer: K. Barcham from Wellington, New Zealand
Wonderful to write with.  This is a very very smooth writer.  At first I thought something was broken with I spotted the metal thingee in the converter.  But a little noseying around in Brian's blog entries put my mind at rest.  And it really seems to help.  This pen (inked with Waterman Red) never leaves my hand throughout most of the day when I'm proofing for work. And it's being asked to write on documents that sit upright at around 60 degrees.  This is no easy feat for most of my pens and they often require restarting.  But not my little Prera.  The little pen body hasn't put me off since I don't have large hands.  And if I wanted to write with it for longer periods, I'd just post the cap and it's still comfortable to hold.

Nice pen and nib! Smooth and good ink wetness. Compact when capped, but good size when posted. Nice balance.

The Pilot Prera February 25, 2013
Reviewer: Sidney Ganzler from Chico, CA United States
Great pen...compact, elegant, and smooth. I really like the demonstrator feature...What you see is what you get. The nib is equal in performance to ones costing many times more.
I'm thinking about getting another one...

A goo, albeit bland pen December 17, 2012
Reviewer: Joshua Smith from Leesburg, VA United States
The prera is a very nice pen, but it sufferes from the fact that the Pilot nib homogenizes the lines from it, making it a bit boring to use. Other than that, it fits very nicely in my rather small hands, and it's length means that it is well balanced for me.

Great nib, pretty pen. November 9, 2012
Reviewer: Lani C. from MD United States
This is currently my favorite pen. Comparable pens would be the Lamy Safari (Safari is cheaper but the nib is not as nice) or the TWSBI 540 (similar price range, but the TWSBI pen is much heavier and longer). The Prera is a bit of a smoother and finer writer than the Lamy Safari M that I have and writes with a thinner line than the TWSBI 540 F that I have. The Prera is a great pen for the price and I'm thinking about getting another one with a fine nib.
