A Wonderful Pen March 28, 2013
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Deep Creek, Utah
A wonderful pen, and a joy to use. The fine nib is definitely more fine than a Pelikan. If you are looking for a European style fine nib, you are probably better off with a medium.

good job, pilot February 26, 2013
Reviewer: zhengyi zhang from GAINESVILLE, FL United States
It seems all the reviews and videos said it is a very good pen which is worth to own. So I order it without hesitant.
After receiving this pen, it "clogged" after one page writing...
I thought it may due to the ink as mentioned by another reviewer. So I changed the ink into the one comes with the pen.
But it still "clogged"... Then I though, OH my god, I spent almost 300 dollars for a broken pen?
And then I sent an email to Brain for some helps and searched for this problem on the internet. I found many people other there have the same issues when they used a vacuum fountain pen at the first time...
All the thing I need to do is to unscrewing the back cap a little bit...And then I found the pilot already told me to do so on the label of the front cap....:(
Brain gave me exactly the same advise, thanks.
After that, I spent an amazon afternoon with this pen without scratching, clogging or any kinds of uncomfortable experiences.
Definitely highly recommended!!

This was a great pen and had no issues whatsoever.  It lays down a razor sharp fine line.

I Can't Believe I Spent This Much for a Pen February 11, 2013
Reviewer: Jason Waskiewicz from Bowman, ND
My usual fountain pens price range is the double digits. I can't justify spending what this pen cost me. However, I love this pen!

The vacuum filler mechanism is just plain cool. It holds gobs and gobs of ink. I do suggest a thinner ink. Noodler's black (my favorite) seemed a bit too thick for the bubbles to rise as I wrote. The bubbles collected above the feed and then the pen quit writing. With Iroshisuzu black, the problem went away.

I love the classy, plain appearance of the pen. It's a demonstrator, but opaque enough to blend in. This pen does not attract the eye, but it has a deeper beauty that rewards examination. The  is smooth and comfortable, and it allows me to focus on the writing rather than the pen. The nib has some flex as well.

There is no justification for this kind of pen purchase, but I love it and I'm glad I bought it.

lives up to its reputation October 21, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Lawrenceville, NJ United States
I've wanted a Pilot Custom 823 for years, and now that I finally got one, I find that it totally lives up to its reputation. The nib is smooth, very fine, and a little springy. While the pen feels more hefty than its cousin, the Custom 74, it's so beautifully balanced that it was just as comfortable for long writing sessions. And the large ink capacity makes it a great workhorse pen--cleverly disguised in an elegant body. Highly recommended.
