The Nib Creaper (also known as the "Standard Flex Pen") was the first fountain pen produced by Noodler's, introduced in 2010, and is Noodler's smallest and slimmest fountain pen. It features a steel flexible #2 nib and a twist piston mechanism. A small ink window shows how much ink is left in your pen. These pens are made from a celluloid derivative.

The Noodler’s flex pens were designed for the hands-on tinkerer - they are made to be taken apart and adjusted. The nib and feed pull right out and can be adjusted for optimal performance. Don’t be afraid to get a little ink on your fingers while you learn how to use this pen.

As a simple rule of thumb for writing with a flex pen, just apply slight pressure on your downstrokes, which will spread the tines and increase the line width, achieving that optimal line variation. Make sure to go slowly so that the ink can keep up with your writing. As with any flex pen, it just takes practice!

Due to the residual machining oils used when cutting the feeds for these pens, we highly encourage you to give the pen a good flush before use. We recommend any of the following options: distilled water, water with a touch of dish soap, a pre-packaged pen flush, or a solution of 10% clear ammonia to water. This should resolve most ink flow issues!

Something to play with March 18, 2013

I have wanted a flex pen to play with. This one flexes better than my Ahab. Nice burgundy color too!

Creaper March 1, 2013

I am very satisfied with this pen. Takes some adjusting to get the feed working properly but once that is done it writes very well. Excellent given the price!

Good pen February 20, 2013
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Canada
I got this pen and cleaned it as soon as I took it out of the box. After inking it up and spending some time adjusting it, I haven't had any problems with inconsistent flow or railroading. Odd resin smell aside, this has been a great pen so far, good for everyday writing and for sketching. The pen is quite small and slim, though, so if you have larger hands, you may be happier with an Ahab or a Konrad. I'd recommend this pen to anyone who wants a budget pen with more expressiveness than, say, a Lamy Safari, but doesn't mind spending the time needed to get the pen to work well.

Very good for small hands February 15, 2013
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Espoo, Finland
This pen isn't very big, but neither are my hands so for this price the pen is irresistible. It wasn't perfect out of the box, but that's not the point. The point is that it's a $14 pen with flex, not crazy-wet-noodle-flex, but a very decent amount indeed.

It writes smoothly, starts immediately, the flex is there when I need it and the resin feels 'warmer' than metal (which is nice when you're carrying your pens around in a bag when it's -15°C/-5°F outside). All-in-all, excellent pen.

Fantastic Pen September 9, 2012
Reviewer: Leo Meyer from Carmel, IN United States
The Noodler Creaper is a fun pen. It requires some pressure to get significant line variation, but at $14 it's a great intro to flex. It's also a very nice writer without flexing. The pen is light and smooth. I find writing with it for long periods of time very easy.
