Noodler's Army Green (3oz) is rated 4.5789 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The shade is a little different . . . This bottle is not quite as olive as the one it replaced, although some batch-to-batch variation is to be expected given the way Nathan manufactures his inks. Army Green is an excellent every-day ink that is very well-behaved as long as you keep it away from the cheapest of papers. It has excellent flow and lubrication properties and I have found it to be reasonably quick-drying. Bleed through and show through are negligible on reasonable-to-better quality papers and it is a good choice for a signature ink. As for the crew at the Goulet Pen Company, yet another awesome job of packaging, communication and service. I appreciate the handwritten notes that accompany every order.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Caught me by surprise. I bought this ink based on the Ink Drop sample I got; the bottle was a different color altogether, more towards the olive than the pine that the sample was. Regardless, I like the color; I was surprised at the difference. 'Parrently Nathan re-formulated the ink, got lotsa complaints about it, and changed it back. My sample was of the "oops" batch. Figures. It's a good ink, though; well-bahaved, well-saturated, quick-drying (with my ex-fine Esterbrook nib), and fairly water resistant. Great ink if you're into the greens. And lots of it, as usual with Noodler's inks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not what I fell in love with I bought a sample of Army Green a couple of weeks ago, and LOVED it. It was a beautiful, rich green, leaning more towards ivy green or leaf green. I was using it in an art project and ran through the sample before I had finished it, so I was kind of relying on getting the bottle. The bottle I received, however, was not even close to the same color. The ink in the bottle is way more olive, with a lot of yellow/brown in it. I really, really don't like it, and am quite disappointed. Now I can't finish my project, and I have a full bottle of ink that I will never use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good thing I never joined the Army Other reviewers like this ink color better than I do. I received it in the July Ink Drop and have used it quite a bit. To me, it is a more subdued and muddy green than I like. Maybe it's the name? I might have liked it better if it had been called 'Deep Avocado' though honestly, it just isn't lively enough for me. I like a bit of spring blueness in my greens. It's a nice ink, though -- good color saturation, good flow through the nib. Just not my color, but obviously others really like it. That's what ink samples are for -- hooray.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Excellent color with a wide variety of shades. Very deep color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible shading It's much deeper than I thought it would be (which was a pleasant surprise), and the shading I experienced while writing with a Lamy fine nib was unbelievable. Definitely one of my favorites, although it does get boring easily because of the deep color. If it were a bit brighter I think I would enjoy it for longer periods of time before having the urge to switch it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great green for reading This is the green I've been looking for. Nice shading, easy on the eyes (I could read this all day) and not at all bright. Good work ink--if only it had some water-resistance! If so, it would be a 5-star ink for me. Army green is a good name for it. Reminds me a little of the old wool army uniforms you sometimes see in thrift shops. I'm currently using in in my TWSBI Diamond 530 Fine point, and it works nicely in this pen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this ink Until I tried my first ever bottle of Noodler's Ink, the only fountain pen ink I'd been using (please note that I'm a bit of a fountain pen newbie) was inexpensive Manuscript ink from Hobby Lobby; the only ink that was locally available to me. Trying a REAL ink of good quality was an astounding difference and now I won't use anything but Noodlers. I love their colorful palette of choices, and I'm fond of that "olive green" color for some reason, so I ordered Noodler's Army Green from Goulet Pens. It was shipped fast and the folks at Goulet are quite friendly. The ink has wonderful shading properties, it "flows" nice and evenly AND reliably, and when they say "army green" they meant it. I love this stuff. It looks like the same shade of green as a WWII army tent. :-)
