Classy dream of a pen June 15, 2014
Reviewer: dietrich from Columbus, OH United States
I received this luscious pen with a Medium nib as a gift, and what a perfect pen. Paired with J Herbin 1670 Anniversary Bleu Ocean, which nicely complements the matte dark blue finish of the barrel (the silverish notes of this ink also complement the chrome section, clip and trim), it writes smooth as butter in my Rhodia dot and lined notepads and Clairfontaine notebooks. I expected the high gloss chrome section to be slippery or a fingerprint magnet, but it is neither. The cap posts with a soft satisfying 'click' and the pen is beautifully balanced.

The proof of any pen (and ink) is in the writing, and in this regard, the Lamy Studio is even sweeter than my charcoal Lamy Safari, also with a Medium nib. It fairly glides across the page and requires so little effort that long writing sessions are a joy. This is a classy design in both form and function. I can't recommend it highly enough. In fact, I can see a few more of these high quality pens in my future.

Fantastic first impression March 21, 2014
Reviewer: Joel Wilson from Coalgate, OK United States
I chose this pen based on its appearance and price.  The dark blue is pretty much my go-to color in everything from automobiles to clothing.  I got it in the mail today, popped it open, put in the converter, stuffed it into a fresh bottle of Noodler's 54th Mass, cleaned up the grip and let her rip.  I threw down a couple hundred words and capped it.  Been carrying it around in my pocket all afternoon driving over some pretty rough oilfield terrain and I don't have an ink pocket yet.  It's great for its intended purpose, check and receipt signer.  It gets a few looks, not too many folks swing a squirter these days.  It has a good comfortable feel when writing and that makes it a winner. SPLAT!

Leaks after about a year of daily use March 17, 2014
Reviewer: BishopShady from California
I use fountain pens every day. Although I collect antique pens, I needed a sturdy, modern, "everyday" pen to withstand the rigors of daily office use, The Lamy Studio seemed like a good choice. It was for a while. It writes well, is easy to fill and clean and, being all metal, it has held up for more than a year. However, recently it started leaking at the small ring on the lower end of the section (grip) right above the nib. There seems to be no way of tightening this ring and I can't remove it to seal it with silicone grease. Unfortunately, it now occupies an inglorious at the back of the drawer. Disappointed.

Lamy Studio Fountain Pen January 3, 2014
Reviewer: james smith from rock hill, MO United States
A fantastic pen, with superior fit, finish and feel.  The weight gives it a real presence in the hand, yet it is balanced so as not be to tiring for extended use.
