Blue samples April 10, 2013
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Nashville
I bought four ink samples from Noodler's:

Bad Blue Heron

Bad Belted Kingfisher

Upper Ganges Blue

54th Massachusetts.

I'm looking for a blue ink that would survive water or coffee or rain or whatever.

I want this ink because I'm sometimes required to sign legal documents and I like knowing the security feature is there.

The last time I signed papers I pulled out my Kaweco Sport with Noodler's Black and signed the first paper, and the lawyer said, Sorry, we really need you to sign in blue ink. I didn't want to put up a fight so I took his crappy ballpoint and signed on his crappy office paper. That's when I decided to find the perfect blue ink.

I wrote with each ink sample on crappy office paper, then ran it under the sink. Kingfisher ran all over the page. It was still readable, but it fuzzed up really badly.

The other inks looked literally unchanged. Good to know. Now Bad Blue Heron is my blue.

Thanks

Bad Blue Heron and Kon-Peki March 20, 2013
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Thornton, CO United States
I tested Noodler's Bad Blue Heron and Pilot's Kon-Peki and I used both inks in a Noodler's Konrad flex pen.  The Noodler's ink was very scratchy and generally blah.  The Pilot ink flowed extremely well and was much more vibrant than the Noodler's.  The Noodler's is a solid everyday ink for mundane tasks where I found the Pilot ink a pleasure to write with and was much more enjoyable to use across all of my tasks.  I will note, it took my nib a bit to get the ion-peki writing smoothly but once it did, it was worth the wait.  Im not sure Pilot is a 30 dollar ink but its close.  Perhaps the bottle makes up the rest of the cost with its reservoir feature.  Out of the two I will be ordering the Pilot for my daily blue.

One of the best dark blues I have used. Great on Clairefontaine notebooks. I will definitely buy a bottle of this soon!

Everyday blue February 19, 2013

A  good everyday colour. As it is bulletproof or at least forgery proof, it is perfect for my daily work. I prefer the kingfisher, but this is a good alternative.

Addressing envelops with a 1.5mm stub is a great way to use this ink.
