This is the exact shade of gold I've been searching for. I like to match my pen colors to ink, and needed something for my yellow pens, but didn't want the barely-see-it qualities of a true yellow like Diamine Sunshine. De Atramentis Gold has just enough depth for it to have a presence on the page. I'd compare it to J. Herbin Ambre de Birmanie, but the De Atramentis is less brown, with a tinge of green. I have not seen this color in any other line. Good find.

It's gold not yellow

At least at out of a medium or wet nib, it does not look like much out of a dry nib. It is dark enough to be read easily in normal lighting. Gold does work well with flex nibs and should do well in an italic nib too. There's shading even with wet nibs. This flushed out of a vintage lever-filled pen pretty easily. It can get contaminated by darker colors so clean your pen well first. There is no scent of course. I love this ink.
