Extended Information:
G. Lalo has been making stationery since 1920. Throughout the years, the quality and elegance of its products led it to be 'de rigueur' in most of the royal courts of Europe.

When pleasure or etiquette require the best in matters of correspondence, invitation, or simply, writing, people turn to Lalo papers.

Once upon a time, the paper Vergé was made by hand in huge vats. Today, the same paper is made according to traditional methods but with modern techniques.

Vergé paper has the look and feel of handmade paper. It even has the grid of parallel translucent lines ('vergeures') made as the paper was laid to dry. These grids are very helpful as guides for handwriting.

Vergé paper is made at the 400-year-old Papierfabriek Schut in the Netherlands.

Fantastic September 2, 2010
Reviewer: Justin Holmes from Waterloo, IA United States
This is outstanding paper. Nice texture, no feathering, bleed, etc. I have the ivory, and it looks best with brown toned inks (Noodler's Galileo Manuscript Brown and Kiowa Pecan really look classy here).

Outstanding paper; pristine results. May 6, 2010
Reviewer: Ezra from New York
Without doubt, this is some of the finest paper on which you will ever write a note. The ink is readily absorbed into the paper and does not smear nor feather.

I used this paper for correspondence and a few thank you notes with my Namiki Vanishing Point, Pelikan M800 and a humble Zebra Sarasa gel pen--the results were all beautiful and crisp. It may even make your bad handwriting look good.

A nice contrast to Clairefontaine Triomphe. February 16, 2010
Reviewer: Tom
If you find the CF Triomphe paper too smooth for your liking, then G. Lalo's Vergé de France is the paper for you.  The horizontal texture imparted to the paper during fabrication acts to both give some feedback when writing and as de facto line guides, keeping your writing straight.

The A5 pads are perfect for dashing off a short note or inserting into a card as a continuation of the text.

Available in a wide variety of colours, spanning professional to whimsical, there is sure to be a combination to suit everyone.
