G. Lalo Verge de France - A4 Tablet - White is rated 4.6667 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from G. Lalo Verge de France Paper This began as a special order of the A4 sized paper, but they happened to find some that was left over from a previous special order. That meant no waiting for a special order! The color says white, but I would classify it more as an eggshell or even light cream. It is certainly not a bright white. I love the color, but that is definitely something to be aware of. The paper is textured with horizontal lines that depth and elegance to the paper. It is a sensory experience writing a letter on this paper. That elegance is gained at the coat of some smoothness, however. Because of the texture, this paper has a little tooth to it. As beautiful as it is, if you are expecting glassy smoothness like Rhodia or Clairefontaine notepaper, you may be disappointed. I will definitely be ordering this again, but if you are looking for bright white or glassy smoothness, the Clairefontaine Triomphe stationery that the Goulets also sell will be more to your liking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not thrilled for writing letters It's too scratchy. I love the feel under my hands, but when I put fountain or calligraphy pen to it, it's such a strain. I'm going to try some graphite crayon or charcoal on it and see it I can use it up that way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best... You can't go wrong with G. Lalo Verge de France. The paper is beautiful, luxurious, perfect for correspondence. It works very well with fountain pens. Just wonderful all around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fine paper I just got my first dose of this paper and love it. Works perfectly with my old Sheaffer fountain pen. I got the white and am glad I did. Has a white lining which is good. Much less bright than the Clairfontaine white which I will now use for less important letters. (Don't take offense if you get one!) I love the scratch on this texture. Still very smooth. I'm just very enthusiastic about it. Just as good as Crane.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from G. Lalo Verge de France Paper High quality paper. Does not feather, echo, bleed, none of that. Provides some degree of feedback when writing due to the textured nature of the paper. Caters to medium+ nibs rather than finer nibs. All in all a pleasurable experience writing experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paper Some seriously impressive paper. Great feel and look. It should be noted that this paper has a coarse feel to it, and a slightly raised, small and evenly spaced horizontal line texturing running throughout. This made writing with a fountain pen slightly more difficult than on a more smooth paper. Also related, because of the heavy gauge, ink drying times are significantly increased (use some sort of blotter). Would certainly purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paper Being one of those who still takes time to write letters to friends, this paper always gets a great comment from those who open the matching envelopes to find it inside, the lines add great depth to its appearance, and it is incredibly smoother to write upon. It is a favourite i will never be without, and something worth trying for anyone looking into a great quality paper, you will not be disappointed with this stuff

Rated 5 out of 5 by from G. Lalo Verge de France - A4 Tablet - White So far the tablet of G. Lalo paper that I ordered has been great. Up to now I have had difficulty finding a paper that can handle ink, lots of feathering and bleed through when using Rhodia and Clairfontaine. Not any more. No more problems with G. Lalo. A great paper if you can afford it.
